When I graduated HS 40+years ago I went to work for a little plant called Modern Globe in Bakersville NC & every Friday we ordered lunch from the hometown restaurant named Helen's...it was something to look forward to each week while I worked there. I was so happy all these years later to find it is still in business and the new owner, Donna Stafford kept the name in honor of the original Helen. The staff was friendly and the food so good just like all those years ago....
We stopped in for lunch and ordered chopped steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was good, the hamburger was medium and the mashed potatoes were great. We also ordered a burger, that was good with French fries. We also ordered the triple decker sandwich and tater tots all was good. The best was the milk shake. Vanilla with Oreos, chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Prices were great and if we are in the area again we will stop by! Thank you!
Another favorite for my mom and family and us to have a wholesome delicious dinner and breakfast. Some of the greatest memories with mom and family was here and most delicious restaurant food ? visited here a not too long ago and it's as wholesome as always and smell will catch you and reel you in plum from the gas stations down the block lol.
