The cashier was friendly but i came in before the lunch rush and it took 8 minutes for a black Keurig coffee that was unfortunately undrinkable. Food smelled and looked good though but definitely not a spot for a good cup of coffee.

We enjoyed Williams Deli so much we came back a second time while visiting Banner Elk, NC. The food is fabulous, the service was great and the people were so kind to my 4 kids! Definitely a favorite of ours!

We recently ate here after seeing so many suggesting it and it did not disappoint. The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious! The S’mores cake is amazing-definitely splurge on a dessert. It’s such a cute atmosphere. We will be back!

I am super picky about delis and I LOVE Williams Deli. The food is so fresh and delicious. My favorite is the chicken (so good with the black pepper "crust") and swiss on whole grain bread. The portions are super generous. My whole family loves it.

Excellent service, fresh food and place beautifully decorated. We stopped for breakfast and the service was fast. After learning of this place, why would anyone spend more money at McDonald's for breakfast? My advice, check it out!!

We really enjoyed this cute deli. It’s a new and welcome addition to Banner Elk. Although it was crowded when we went we were served pretty quickly and the soup and sandwich was delicious.

Pros: Friendly service, cute atmosphere, pretty ample seating (indoor + outdoor), desserts looked really good (but can't vouch for the taste)

Cons: I just wasn't really impressed with the sandwich, or the prices. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich, which I think definitely needs to be a hot sandwich and not a cold one (a very odd choice, IMO), and for $13 or $14 should be much larger than a few slices of deli chicken with lettuce and tomato on a Kaiser roll. $17 for a sandwich and can of soda is steep, especially for this area. I also have to dock a star for the lack of vegetarian options. I think you can make your own sandwich and I guess just put vegetables on it(?), but I think they charge per topping(?) or get egg salad, but the online menu doesn't indicate that. My wife and kids are vegetarian so I didn't bring them with me when I went because I assumed there would be nothing for them to eat.

Overall: I don't want to trash a small, family-owned business but I did want to provide some honesty in my review since my experience was different than the other 50 or so people who have provided a review. I would say that visitors should know this is NOT a New York-style deli (nor does Williams claim to be!) and for residents (part-time or full) I don't feel that this is a like-for-like replacement for Dunn's Deli (which is sorely missed) or the same as Fred's Backside Deli in Beech Mountain.

Vegetarian options: No vegetarian sandwiches (according to online menu) but I think they might have egg salad (so, not vegan) in the restaurant.
