Quaint atmosphere but looks more like a good coffee shop. Do not expect this to be a hot dog house. Ordered a smash burger but this in NO WAY is a smash burger. Just an over cooked regular burger. The bun look to be brioche but fell apart like a potato bun. Also parts of it were hard and stale. I could not tell if the staff was overworked, understaffed or if he was just not there in his mind. Very short when spoken to. Some people had drinks brought to them other people he would yell at to come get their drinks from the countertop. Was not welcomed at the door. Didn't know if we should sit or wait. When we sat no one came had to ask if we should order at counter which promptly answered yes as if I was a bother. I will give this place one more shot as my parents have been here and said they enjoyed the breakfast. But if the breakfast is cooked anything like that burger.... It will be the last.

Had the EXACT same experience as “Amber” a month prior (go see her review- and his RUDE response). We walked in a little before 2pm and a rude man “greeted” us and had an attitude. I asked my husband to make sure I wasn’t being dramatic, and he said the same. Then we sat down and he yelled across the place that they were out of chicken salad and burgers. We really wanted burgers so we just left. Also will note only one other person in the place, which now did not surprise me. We went up the road to a barbecue place with the sweetest waitress.

Visited this cute cafe on our way back from Grandfather mountain and so glad we did.
The cafe is spacious, clean and the decor is super cute.
The owner is very sweet and kind. We loved their espresso blend and wanted to know where they source it from as we're building a home coffee station.
She took time to give us all the information and gave us tips on building our coffee routine. We had a great conversation and she generously gave us a bag of coffee beans to try at home.
We loved having an amazing lunch at the cafe.

Came here hoping for a coffee and a late lunch with my boyfriend but was immediately greeted with a weird attitude even though they closed at 3 and we got there at 2.
Left while I was at the counter because the vibe inside was so horrible, maybe don’t look like you hate your life and job when you’re greeting customers in a shop that has none.

We stopped in for lunch. They have great hamburgers! Very friendly folks run the place. Very nice atmosphere and very clean. Looks like they have great coffee based on the machinery, but I didn't try it.

I was desperate for a decent cup of coffee after going to a so called “coffee shop” where the coffee was not good. Stumbled upon this place between parts A and B and figured anything was better than what I’ve already had.
Boy was I in for a surprise! This ranked up there in my best 5 cups of coffee EVER! The Americana blend was brewed and poured right, fresh like they had picked the beans yesterday, and everything I could have dreamed of!
Plus, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, and I left there in a much better mood than I arrived! This is my new go to coffee place any time I am in the Boone/Banner Elk/Blowing Rock area!
Give them a shot, I promise you will not leave disappointed, and you might just leave with a new Top 5 cup of coffee like I did!

This is a hidden gem. The food was very good and the atmosphere is cozy. The place is spotless and the owners are very nice. It’s a precious mom and pop cafe with healthy options. We really liked it.

Rude customer service.. mainly the woman, but both workers weren't pleasant. Working in the service industry myself, I know how important it is to be kind to all and it's really not hard. Not being greeted when walking in or talked to politely when asking questions about the menu, I'll take my business elsewhere. Vibes were blah.. there's far better options on the mountain and we experienced them.

Rude, unfriendly staff. Mediocre overpriced food. My advice is to go to Mountain Dog Coffee up the street.
Went by today with by Beagle, considering it's called the Dog House Cafe. Did not go inside due to me having a dog, and was proceeded to be asked by a staff member "are you okay?" I replied "Yes! Just wanted to get some food with my dog, I didn't want to go inside with him!" Which he replied "yes no dogs in establishment" which I figured, hence why I was outside. Then he let me know I'd have to pay inside, and wouldn't bring my card from the table to the inside, which would require me to leave my pup in the truck. Just felt not allowed to even be there, especially when it comes up as "pet friendly" on Google. Went elsewhere and spent my money. Just a strange experience 🤔
Edit 12/10/24. I think that is a hilarious response considering a family inside had to TELL the worker to come outside, where he acted like me and my dog with his BOWLS outside were an issue. I knew he couldn't come in, duh! I was not going to bring him back to the car, just get rid of outdoor seating then! Oh well, keep it up! 🤣
