In spite of the disaster all around from storm Helene, they managed to be open, have good food, and serve customers.
The queso for chips was very watery and expensive for the amount you receive. I had the fajitas with chorizo, chicken, steak, and pork. The pork was a soft texture compared to the rest of the meats and really threw off the whole fajita taste experience. Normally fajitas come out sizzling and these did not and I'm pretty sure the dirty cook is who dropped my plate off at the table. It just wasn't the caliber of food that I expected. The guacamole that came with the lettuce and sour cream was very thin and oddly spicy. I dont mind spice at all just was not expecting that in the guac. The Mexican rice was extremely bland, so it was nice to have the spicy guacamole to eat those 2 items together to give it some flavor. Not a place I would venture back to again.

This place is amazing. My coworker and I stopped in for lunch because nothing else sounded good. Ladies and Getlemen, this place is the exception to Lyle Lovett’s rule of ‘Don’t eat Mexican food East of the Mississippi…’

We've been passing this little place for a long time and finally decided to check it out. Smaller space than I imagined, but we all liked it as it has a cozy atmosphere. The salsa bar was a real treat, but my favorite was the regular. We all got lunch specials, and the #12 is a lot of food. Typical tasting but fresh and comforting. We will definitely be returning. Prices are very reasonable.

Ordered enchiladas and got browned meat in a wrap with cheese on top. No salt, no sauce, no taste. Also, ordered tacos and got the same browned meat with several pieces of white lettuce and mozzarella cheese on top. No sauce, no salt no taste. I ordered two different items and expected each one to taste different and it did not. Really disappointed in the food.

The food was excellent! I got a burrito with rice and beans and everything was delicious! Will be going back next time we are in tge area. The food was hot and came to the table quickly and the salsa bar was great. The habenero salsa was spicy and had a great flavor.
Kid-friendliness: My kid loved it here she was happy and spent the whole time dancing in her high chair and eating a burrito!

Pretty tight little Mexican spot close to grandfather mountain. Very quick service and some really nice people. Food was not the best I’ve tried but I really liked the self serve salsa bar. The chips did taste old but overall a good place to eat.

Pros:
They only seemed slight annoyed by us (lol). We were a rowdy group of eight, 4 kids- 4 adults. We came in hot, hungry and asked for a round of waters for the table before even opening the menu.
The food was excellent & came out really fast. I had a tamale & the mushroom quesadilla (pictured). But we ordered a bunch of different stuff & not one complaint about the food from all 8 of us- picky kid included.
The salsa/toppings bar was convenient. This is what you use for sauce/taco toppings for those writing reviews complaining about getting tacos with just meat.
We needed to split the bill between the 3 families in our group and this was handled very well & was easier than most places as it was split right in front of us using a tablet.
Overall, we’d eat here again! Kid friendly, outdoor porch seating. They already had a larger group inside when we got there and could only accommodate us outside. Which was actually what we preferred.
Kid-friendliness: Outdoor patio seating- great for kids.

Food was good(not great). $16.99 for 3 tacos with zero toppings. Pointed to the help yourself counter to put stuff on the tacos. Very tacky in my opinion. The chips and cheese were tortilla chips slopped with cheese over the top of them and microwaved. The Mexican Guacamole was literally all of the ingredients including sliced avocado that wasn't even mixed. Honestly do not recommend this place.
