On our way through to travel home my husband and I found ourselves starving and made a quick turn to eat lunch. This place was scary empty. The salsa bar has nothing appealing. I tried them all, and they all taste horrible. The menu states after the first basket of chips you are charged for the next. Good thing I didn't like the salsa because this rule is dumb. My tamale has ground beef on top. Who does that!? The rice has veggies which to me, is more japanese/Chinese. My husband's pollo locco was two thin chicken breasts on rice. I've been to many Mexican restaurants and never seen it served like this. Usually its cut into strips. Not a big deal but the whole presentation of this restaurant makes me wonder if these people know what they are doing. I see what's it empty. The food was subpar. And they charged a ridiculous price.

No dogs on their outdoor patio unless they’re a service dog.

We were suspicious that the place was empty but gave it a chance. The waiter acted as if he was bothered by us being there. We had to initiate ordering, drink refills, everything. The free salsa bar was sketchy at best..pico de gallo that absolutely wasn't made fresh that day... the food was actually decent, but the service ruined everything. It was also VERY dark in there. Other servers sat at a table nearby, listening to their phones so loud we knew what they were watching.
Everyone in this town is so bubbly and happy... not here. I'll spend my money with friendly people who appreciate me as a customer. Do yourself a favor and have better food and service at literally any other restaurant in town!

After hiking all day long, this food was a god send. Delicious, and came out so fast. They salsa bar and chips available literally the second you sit down. Amazing!!

This place is incredibly priced and the portions are amazing, the food was really good as well. When I’m back in town I will definitely be coming back

I stopped and ordered a beef and bean burrito to go for my guy who eats everything. He took one bite and threw the meal in the trash. He said the filling was unidentifiable.

Our first visit and this is a new favorite when we come to Banner Elk. The food was delicious and the service was great. Loved the salsa bar.
