The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was excellent. Our waitress was professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. We began with drinks—Blackbeard's Baby Mama and Figging Delicious—both of which were delicious. For appetizers, we had the spinach dip and dried oysters, and they were outstanding. The main dishes were equally impressive. One downside was that the portions for the main courses were quite large, so we ended up ordering more food than we could finish. Overall, we spent over two hours enjoying what turned out to be an exceptional meal.

Delicious! Some of best food I've ever eaten. Service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant itself has a great coastal town atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Beaufort Grocery is in the historic district of Beaufort, NC. The building was once Owen's Grocery store and is now a casual restaurant. They serve sandwiches and salads for lunch, but the dinner menu is closer to fine dining.
I highly recommend making reservations if you are going for dinner, as it is a very popular place, even in the off-season. Reservations are not taken for the Sunday brunch, so I made sure to get there early to be first in line.
On my recent visits, the restaurant was decorated for the holidays, so that was fun. It is small inside, but in warmer weather, there are outside tables.
Alex took care of me at dinner. He was very welcoming, friendly, and could answer all my questions. He was very attentive and made sure my iced tea was always full.
I went with the special for the night. I ordered the ribeye special without realizing it was 20 ounces. Thankfully, my appetite was good that night. It came with brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I did get dessert too, and that was a chocolate peanut butter pie. That took me two days to finish.
At brunch, my waitress was friendly and went over all the specials. I had a green apple mocktail, the #18 poached and stacked. I did the mini sweet potato biscuits as well, so it was a lot of food. Alex, from dinner, saw me and asked me about my trip, so it was nice to see him again, and I thought it was nice that he remembered my plans.
I will be dining here at least once on future trips to Beaufort, NC.

This delightful dining experience delivered on the promised reputation. From the bacon-wrapped filet to the masterfully prepared grouper to the chocolate chess pie, every mouthful is worth it! (Don't worry. We'll walk off the pie at Shackleford Banks tomorrow! 😆)

We had the Willis Reuben and the Fugedaboudit sandwiches, with sweet potato fries and broccoli salad. It was really busy so wait time on our order was a little long, but well worth it.

Sat outside on a sunny Saturday for a yummy lunch. Enjoyed fun cocktails (Golden Girl!), lunch special sandwich, Cobb salad with shrimp with prosecco. Sides were delicious - broccoli salad, potato salad and sweet potato chips. Best part was meeting our server, Ivy who was a gem! Many tempting options on the menu, genuine service… do recommend!

We LOVE Beaufort Grocery. Beaufort Grocery is one of the main reasons why we visit Beaufort, NC. We have never had a bad meal at Beaufort Grocery. We were in Beaufort recently for the weekend and had lunch and two dinners at Beaufort Grocery. The Rueben sandwich is delicious. We enjoyed dinner specials and the shrimp and scallop dinner menu item #3. The apple crumble pie was the perfect fall dessert - we ordered it two days in a row. We also loved the pecan pie. We have visited Beaufort Grocery many times over the past couple of years and they serve the BEST food in Beaufort.
