Nice staff. Food delivery was prompt and hot.
I had the Yum-Yum Shrimp appetizer and a cup of Seafood Bisq soup. Best I have ever had. I am hooked on it now as my favorite dish. I wish they served the shrimp on top of a bowl of rice though.. I bet customers would love that. Anyway I will be back for a repeat soon . All the way from Texas. Visiting our home on Cedar Island
Called in a reservation the day before and was immediately sent confirmation text and email. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately with a very busy room. The Big Rock had finished a few hours earlier. The food was fantastic along with the service and atmosphere. ( 2 Stuffed Founders with crab/shrimp , 2 Ribeyes with loaded baked potato along with corn onion and potatoes, 1 Low County Peel and Eat , 2 baskets of puppies ) Y'all should definitely try it !
Was thoroughly underwhelmed by the amount of food that comes with the platter. Although the crab cake was delicious! I would suggest only getting the crab cake if I went again. The mixed drinks were also decent.
It was really busy and required a reservation. BUT.... they fit us in. We may have waited 10 minutes at the most, not 40 minutes as suggested. Mom and I shared some fried pickles and a fish and chips plate. We did order an extra piece of fish but really did not need to. We had more than enough and brought home a to-go box too.
After living down the street for 8 years, I can now say, I have experienced Black Beards.
My favorite restaurant best Staff,Cooks and Hostess ❤️
Delicious! Great service!
This will be our second time here. Our first experience I didn't write about because I wasn't writing reviews at that time. This time, however, I have started writing reviews for the places I eat at. The food was quite enjoyable. They have a wide variety of seafood dishes along with several turf dishes. We had the maple BBQ porkchops, stuffed softshell crabs, peel and eat shrimp, garlic parmesan clams, and steamed oysters, earl grey cremé brulee, and the strawberry key lime pie. Everything was enjoyable and delicious. We did find out if you ate the key lime pie without the strawberries, it was very tart. However, that dish was made with eating everything in one harmonious bite in mind.

Was there providing emergency medical rescue. Staff was kind food smelled good and the drinks even had a patron falling over in need of ems. Drinks are probably good value per alcohol.

Lived here for years and finally made it over to blackbeards while we had company visiting that loves fresh seafood so figured this was the spot to try. We were seated and waited on promptly. It’s a great menu with a lot of options. The bar menu is also impressive with local beers, wine and a wide variety of mixed drinks. We settled on an appetizer of stone crab claws and the pirate platter I think it was called with fried shrimp, fried mahi bites and a crab cake. You also get a choice of 2 sides. This is FRESH local seafood and you can tell. It’s pricey but I don’t mind it when it’s quality and quantity. Fresh garden lettuce garnishes all the dishes and even edible orchids. Got the earl grey brûlée for dessert since it sounded unique and it was absolutely divine. Top 3 best creme brûlées I’ve ever had. I’ve had ALOT. The vanilla bean in it was just so so good. Cudos to the chef here. This was the best meal I’ve had locally in a long time. Looking forward to our next visit. This will definitely be my new recommendation for those looking for the best seafood in the area.
Parking: Limited parking but at night other businesses are closed so you can park in their areas
Kid-friendliness: Open seating, not stuffy interior

A little out of the way for most vacationers, but you won't regret it! We discovered this place when Florence shut down a few of our favorite haunts, and it easily stayed on our list of "Must go." Fresh seafood, properly prepared every time. Make sure to get the Downeast Chowder, enjoy a fried platter, it's all wonderful and worth the price
