Akahana Asian Bistro, Bar, & Sushi

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable and dangerous. I placed an order and very clearly informed the staff that I have a shrimp allergy. Despite that, they still included shrimp in my order. This isn’t just a mix-up—it’s a serious health risk. When I called to explain the issue, I spoke with Brittany, she also wouldn't allow me to speak with anyone else. Brittany offered zero resolution. I also explained that I live several miles away, but she insisted I’d have to drive back to the restaurant if I wanted it corrected. No apology, no accountability—just indifference. Mistakes happen, but how they’re handled matters. This restaurant failed on both fronts—food safety and customer service.

Food is outstanding EVERY time my family goes there. It's not overly expensive compared to how good the food is.
Our family has likely tried 3/4 of the items on the menu.
The customer service there is excellent too.
Great staff at this location ?
The only thing that is a negative, it gets a little loud inside sometimes.
We will keep coming back.

We’ve ordered from akahana for a while and will never do it again. So overpriced for the portion size, we also ordered hot and sour soup and it tasted like muddy thick water. Went back and exchanged for the Tom-kha soup and it was even worse. Even the hosts at the front said the restaurant wasn’t “mentally together”. Gross. Do not go here it’s a waste of time and money.

I am not picky AT ALL! But I have NEVER had food this bad from any restaurant. My husband and I ordered sesame chicken and rice with broccoli, the broccoli was so cold it almost frozen, the chicken was hard and tasted old. I let the manager know and we swapped it for salad and veggie sushi because I figured they couldn’t mess that up, WRONG! The salad was covered in water, the sushi was OK but not that great. And my kids didn’t like their food either, they had the chicken fried rice and the chicken had no flavor and was hard. I am so disappointed. The food was horrible and we paid $60 for food we didn’t even finish. I will never come back to this place EVER. And I’m really curious to know how this restaurant has 4.3 rating. I never leave reviews especially not bad ones but I’m just shocked at how bad the food was. I will say the manager was really nice. That’s the only good thing.

This won't stop me from returning. But I might hesitate to sit at the bar again. Piece of advice from someone in hospitality. Staff members should stay consistent even at the end of their shift. And Never have a conversation with the guest food held in right in between yall, talking and laughing over it, in front of the guest while I wait.
