This place ROCKS. I was in there today and I was surprised at how friendly the entire staff was. Almost a Disney World happy place. I loved it. And the food was on point. They have a crazy large selection of choices and whatever you select, you won't be sorry. I got their Sesame Chicken and have to say it was really good. And again, the staff is great. This is a place I will come back to and try something else. You should too. You won't be disappointed, and it may become one of your favorites.

I tried this place for the first time today. Best sushi I’ve had in Gaston Co. The sushi came out quick, looked delicious, and tasted immaculate. Service was top notch. Nice variety of beers both draft and bottles. Will definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised walking into Akahana, the space is much larger than it looks from the outside, giving it that hidden gem feel. We came in on a Saturday night with no reservation and were seated quickly, which was a nice bonus.
The food came out hot and fast, which I always appreciate. The plain fried chicken wings were so good we immediately ordered a second round. We also had the fried rice with vegetables and the lo mein, both flavorful and satisfying.
Overall, it was a great experience with quick service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable and dangerous. I placed an order and very clearly informed the staff that I have a shrimp allergy. Despite that, they still included shrimp in my order. This isn’t just a mix-up—it’s a serious health risk.
When I called to explain the issue, I spoke with Brittany, she also wouldn't allow me to speak with anyone else. Brittany offered zero resolution. I also explained that I live several miles away, but she insisted I’d have to drive back to the restaurant if I wanted it corrected. No apology, no accountability—just indifference.
Mistakes happen, but how they’re handled matters. This restaurant failed on both fronts—food safety and customer service.

Food is outstanding EVERY time my family goes there. It's not overly expensive compared to how good the food is. Our family has likely tried 3/4 of the items on the menu. The customer service there is excellent too. Great staff at this location ? The only thing that is a negative, it gets a little loud inside sometimes. We will keep coming back.
We’ve ordered from akahana for a while and will never do it again. So overpriced for the portion size, we also ordered hot and sour soup and it tasted like muddy thick water. Went back and exchanged for the Tom-kha soup and it was even worse. Even the hosts at the front said the restaurant wasn’t “mentally together”. Gross. Do not go here it’s a waste of time and money.
