The newly renovated and reimagined Caravan Coffee and Desert Bar is nothing short of spectacular. The five star rating I give it, is rated against the best bakeries of New York, Chicago, Boston. Yes, it's that good. While most coffee bars serve a limited variety of outsourced items tightly wrapped in cellophane, the glorious assortment of items at Caravan are made fresh in its adjoining bakery. We had the good fortune to meet the head baker and he walked us through his process and we sampled some of his creations. The high points are the fresh apricot and cheese filled croissants, the fresh cream filled chocolate covered eclairs, the raspberry rugelach, the chocolate cake, and the scones. Literally everything there is good and together, Caravan is fast becoming a foodie destination. In general, Belmont NC is emerging from the pandemic in a very strong position with new and expanded restuarant, breweries, candy and ice cream shops, new bars, good shopping and plenty of free community parking lots. IfBelmont NC is the gem of the Charlotte NC satellite towns, Cavaran coffee is its brightest star with a culinary powerhouse at its glowing center.

Belmont is a beautiful town and no visit to Belmont is complete without a visit to Caravan! To begin, the decor is so unique and it truly feels like I’m visiting a different place. The drinks are delicious and so much more affordable compared to sbux. My go-to’s are the Salted Caramel Latte, Mint Condition, or a plain coffee.

Been going to caravan off and on since they opened. Tonight was sad. Young lady behind the counter was non-communicative and had an attitude. I almost left because of that but when I saw a large bug crawl across a croissant in the case, that clinched it. No more Caravan for me.
