The Jailhouse Whiskey & Cigar Bar

Ok, first off this place has no reason to indicate it's a cigar bar. We came in Saturday night and upon entry we stopped by the humidor which was no more than a humidified room of nothing. Maybe 8 boxes of basic cigars to choose from. They were busy but we got lucky and were able to grab a table for the 4 of us. Oh boy let's just say that the poor girl that was our server had no idea what day it was. She couldn't tell me anything about their cocktails let alone a single bourbon. Since there was no bourbon menu we ordered standard cocktails. Took our drinks and sticks down to the smoking lounge where we were met with the most awful filtration system ever. That thing just roars at you nonstop. We won't be back. Vintage was much more the atmosphere we were looking for.

We wish we had eaten first. We will next time. The tables fill up fast. Go close to opening time. We had a drink and then smoked a cigar and could find a table for dinner.

I hit cigar lounges when I travel, The Jailhouse is number 43 in my log of lounges. I was in town for a few nights and made sure to hit this one because of the name and Pics on the google search. Ultimately the real life was disappointing. It is billed as a whiskey bar and car lounge, and it is both of those, but not together. Smoking was on a separate floor with no waiter/service. The humidor was walk-in, but bare. Not much to choose from, and not a desirable selection. I guess I could have brought my own smoke since we never saw an employee again once we went to the cigar lounge. If that's your plan, there were nice leather chairs and some TV's. The decor and lighting were nice

We chose The Jailhouse specifically for the cigar experience, combined with drinks and food. SUPER UNIQUE! The setting of an old jail makes the speakeasy part very enjoyable. The food was very good and the cocktails were made perfectly. Unfortunately, the cigar selection was limited due to a busy night before. There were still some quality choices, but definitely not enough. Overall, we had a FANTASTIC evening. Highly recommended.

I love the feel of this place, even though it was an old jailhouse lol. The food and cocktails are delicious to say the least. If you are a cigar connoisseur they have a nice selection of cigars available also a nice area to smoke. Highly recommend and a great date night spot.

Stopped in for one drink to check it out. Very cool little spot w LOTS of liquor choices. Server was attentive and our drinks were very good. This place is definitely about the vibe as much as the cocktails. Even has a separate cigar lounge on the floor below the bar.

Only came for drinks and to check out the cigar bar and whiskey bar. The whiskey bar was well stocked with some great brands. Generous pours made for some great drinks. Cigar bar had some good brands to choose from. Only saw 1 employee, the bartender, the whole time we were there. She made great drinks but didn’t seem too happy. Didn’t know if food was served. No menus and mentions from the bartender.

Best cocktail bar in the Charlotte area. The atmosphere is cool and cozy, bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly, and the drinks are always delicious and very fairly priced. I've done the "can't decide" cocktail where the bartender makes a drink for you based on qualities you like, and I've gotten some of the best drinks that I couldn't order on a menu. 10/10 cocktail bar

I cannot believe you cannot even order the classic burger off the menu … I didn’t want a fancy burger to eat at the bar … I really wanted my steak and blue cheese grits but this is also not on the menu ! So disappointed in the menu now!!!
