Every time my partner and I come here, it feels like we are coming home for dinner. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with love, and you can truly taste the quality in every bite, everytime! Best Yankee food around for 500 miles.

Yes Yankee, the recipes were passed down from generation to generation from the owner's grandmother, she is a Yankee in Pennsylvania, I got a big kick out of it when I had my southern friends tell me best southern food around, you can't get food like this up north they said, I had the owner come over and tell them.

Was visiting from South Carolina with my wife and was wanting to show her a good authentic Southern experience which seems to lack more nowadays. The food, services, and atmosphere was incredible. Little places like this preserve the soul of the South.

Grandma Hoyt’s Catering absolutely understood the assignment 👏🍗

We had the fried chicken, pot roast, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and peach cobbler — and somehow every single thing tasted like the best family reunion plate you’ve ever had. The fried chicken was crispy perfection, the pot roast melted apart with a fork, and the mac & cheese deserves its own fan club. And don’t even get me started on the peach cobbler… we were one spoonful away from fighting over the last bite 😂

Huge shoutout to Chris for setting everything up so smoothly and going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was phenomenal, the service was amazing, and the whole experience felt warm, easy, and genuinely cared for.

10/10 would happily loosen my pants button for Grandma Hoyt’s again!

Well since covid hit things change everywhere. I like the place just wish they wouldn't put green chives in everything. Use to it be so awesome you couldn't wait to go back. But it is good old country food soul food

Very very welcoming the minute you walk in the door the owner greets you I can't remember his name for the love of God I'm so sorry to the owner there I would do apologize but he's a very wonderful man. I think his name is Ben if I get it wrong I do apologize. But anyway the owner greets you or he at least he greeted us the minute we walked in, everyone there is very very friendly cafeteria like Buffet they serve you but it is all you can eat everything is homemade from scratch very very good food different dishes things that I've never tried before you've got to go to try the chicken in shell ! I could not begin to tell you what's in it other than chicken and it's in a shell, pasta shell you know like stuffed shells but only it's stuffed with chicken not Rigatta cheese. It is amazing! Best place hands down that we've eaten in a really long time it'll make you say golden where golden who? LOL anyway you got to try it's the best place in Bessemer City that we've eaten or in the area in a really long time it's our new favorite spot to eat at I'll say that much. I'm also leaving a review on my wife is also leaving a review on her Google account and she has a lot of followers on her platforms because she is a stand-up comedian so I suggest that you go check out her platforms but she's Gigi Reynolds at Gigi's off her meds. So there you go got to stop and eat here folks it's definitely worth the trip everyone's friendly Foods excellent all you can eat and trust me it's very filling so you're going to love love love it here tell him Bo and Gigi sent you! And trust me they want to know your name and get to know you when you walk in the door and you don't find that just anywhere these days

Today (4/24/26) I ordered a flounder plate and requested extra tartar sauce. When I received my food there was no sauce at all. Anyone who knows me well will tell you I don't eat fried fish without tartar sauce, ever. I made a note in the special instructions box and usually they get everything right. That's why I love Grandma's. It's always fresh and packed well, too. I called to tell them the sauce was missing, not expecting anyone to bring it to me, but for them to be aware so maybe they don't goof on the next one. When I explained that I ordered through Instacart he sarcastically interjected they didn't use Instacart. I explained it's Instacart platform but Uber Eats delivers. He put me on hold and checked something. He came back and said there was nothing about tartar sauce. That is a lie. I can't prove it, but it's a lie. I could overlook all of this except his attitude. From the start of the conversation he was clearly annoyed and sarcastic. This order was a splurge for me, as money is tight like it is for so many. I didn't come at him with an attitude but I surely received one. I'm not even mad, I'm disappointed and frankly, a little hurt. Whether dining in or ordering delivery the people here have always been so warm, kind and welcoming. Today has left a bad taste in my mouth. My next dinner splurge won't be here.
