You can only drive thru and only cash. The food is worth it
Old school, whole-hog, Eastern NC BBQ done very well. The grilled BBQ chicken and slaw are good, too. No frills drive-through service; take away or eat at the picnic tables under the open shelter. My new, favorite ENC BBQ joint. Just wish they had cornbread sticks. Come early and cash only.
Only 121 reviews? Are you kidding me? One of the Best Eastern style bbq places. Right up there with Skyline, Gradys and Sam Jones, maybe better actually. Slight smokey bbq pork taste combined with slaw, melt in your mouth bbq chicken, hushpuppies. Get there before 11am to snag plenty of chicken. Just put it in your GPS, you'll figure out which driveway to use when you get there. But if you like BBQ, go there you must. Cash only. Sid's BBQ & Catering is a fantastic place for great, old school Eastern North Carolina BBQ. Open on Saturdays only, it often has a line of cars. Customers drive up to order and pay, then receive their food handed to them. The very good and clean barbecue comes from whole pigs cooked over coals, served chopped with no gristle and a piece of crispy skin. The BBQ chicken, both white and dark meat, is also delicious. Meals include fantastic, refreshing slaw and hushpuppies. The systems are efficient, the staff is friendly, and there is room to park and seating to eat. Be sure to come early and bring cash.
