A South African joint worth trying.
I’m local and was really excited to try this place. The ambience is really nice, it has an awesome vibe. The service was wonderful. The food, however, was not good. The salmon cakes were dry and under seasoned and the portion was tiny for an entree. The vegetable curry was mediocre. I felt like I could make better at home. Super disappointing. And then we got the check and I felt like I was being punked. $75 for lunch for two people and bad food. I’ve talked to others that feel the same way. Might go for drinks and live music but there’s better food elsewhere in town.
Excellent food and service / not a traditional 'boring' fare.
Every presentation was just beautiful, and I add that the staff and the owner were a perfect reflection of true Southern hospitality.
South African food in an old farm house. Lovely backyard with ample outdoor seating and a stage for music. The chicken coop is cute for the kiddos!
The food is all done very well. We have come for brunch and dinner now.
Highly recommend the bush breakfast platter! Loaded with all your morning cravings:)
The staff are friendly and seem to enjoy working there.
Marc is amazing. The vibes are perfect. Super kid friendly garden.
It's my family's favorite restaurant for a reason.
Food and service were both very good
If you havent been here i strongly suggest you find a way to get here and have a delicious anything. Thank you to everyone there the vibe was awesome.
My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant by accident and we couldn’t have been happier. I’m from England and the sausage rolls were amazing. I thought it couldn’t get any better but then my oxtail stew with rice came out! The owner actually sat us and told us the stew was the dish he was most proud of on the menu. I see why!! My husband had a beef pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. It’s been almost a year and I can still taste the melt in your mouth stew. I keep looking for it to come back on the menu but regardless, we’ll be making the 5 hour trip next month for our anniversary. This trip is for the food at this restaurant alone. Easily a 15 out of 10 🤩

Wow I can’t say enough about the incredible food, atmosphere, and staff. This is my new favorite place. So much to explore. we had the fresh catch - trout and sardines. Everything was so tasty. I can’t wait to come back again soon.

What a wonderful find! The owner came to visit and told us the restaurant (in an old house) reminded him of his grandmother’s South African home. We heard Afrikaans spoken by two women walking through the restaurant bouncing a baby and conversing about the decor and wall hangings. Another couple walked in and asked if there was room at the bar for lunch and the owner teased with a grin, “Only if you are from South Africa…” to which she replied with delight, “I am!” The food was SO UNIQUE in its flavors & spices and delicious! We will be coming back.
