“We came in from out of town to relax and have a drink. I ordered coffee and my wife ordered a martini. We didn’t know that you weren’t able to have alcohol outside (although someone at another table had a martini as well). We had our dogs with us and we apologized profusely when the bar manager Victoria came outside and mentioned it. As we were gathering our things, we could hear her inside talking about how she’s tired of this “sh*t” , telling patrons at the bar. Initially we ignored it since we were trying to have a relaxing time in a new town. She kept on so I went in and asked if she was talking about us loud enough to where we can hear her outside! She apologized and said there are signs on the tables. First of all, there was one sign on a table that was written on what looked like a piece of paper and you could barely read the words. There was NO sign on our table and she said people take them off. I don’t like people insinuating that I’m doing something I didn’t do. We paid a 30 percent gratuity for the service we received and this is the treatment your customers receive?! Unbelievable! I told her it’s probably not in her best interest to insult and berate customers that are spending their hard earned money in your town.”

“Yall. Simply the best pastries and coffee I’ve had in quite some time! Went to Black Mountain to celebrate my birthday with my daughter & sister. We ordered one of every pastry and had a taste test of 3 items and took home the rest. THEY WERE AMAZING!! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the staff friendly and attentive, and the pastries tasted like they came from a French pastry shop. Will definitely be back soon!”

“I wanted to give a huge shout-out to the team at the Dripolator on Tunnel Road for being such incredible community partners. We recently collaborated with them for our Golden Egg Hunt, and they went above and beyond to help make it a success! They were egg-perts at hiding one of our prize eggs. It’s rare to find a local spot that is as dedicated to community engagement as it is to brewing a perfect cup of coffee. Speaking of which—if you haven't tried their seasonal lattes or fresh baked goods, you are seriously missing out. 🥐”

“I was cruising through the local ingles drifting my buggy a little bit though the turns here in Hendersonville. The plan was to just grab a few things for work and some coffee. I will be honest and admit I am usually a Folgers kind of guy. I mean they say it is the best part of waking up, and who am I to argue. I decided to try something new, that’s when I noticed some bags sitting on a shelf towards the front of the store. Dynamite Coffee! I gave it a quick google and it turns out it is made local. I noticed one of the bags had a cannon on it. I thought it looked pretty cool, which all the bags had good looking designs. “Dynamite Expresso” was the name. I said, I am sure that it has plenty of caffeine. I poured it in the coffee maker, and when I say it smelled like heaven, I mean it. Finally, after much anticipation it finished brewing, the room was filled with the smell of happiness. As I poured it into my cup, my mouth was watering like Niagara Falls. Then, I took a sip. I would compare the taste to warm sunshine on a cold snowy day or putting on a jacket you haven’t worn in a while, and you find a $20 dollar bill in one of the pockets. It was truly amazing. Then the caffeine started to do its job. Not jittery, just a smooth ramp up of motivation and alertness. Like a plane taking off. I want to say thank you! I am sure my job would thank you too.”

“Great subs! Loved the steak and cheese and Italian subs. The bread on all the subs was super fresh, fluffy, and delicious. The potato salad is a really nice recipe, and they have a great selection of sodas, including celery soda! The salad was super fresh, and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. We're just through to visit, but I'd happily come back here next time we're nearby!”

“I went in for the raw oysters and they were great! Then I tried a meal and it was pretty good. The service was a little hard to get somebody to attend to me. But I think it was because it was right at closing time and even after hours when I got done eating. But they were very nice and did not run me off and I will go back again!”

This has become my spot to come to when I want to get work done. Everyone is friendly, even when I come through at 5:40am before having to head to the hospital.”

“This is not just a great pizza and I pasta place... Had a special last night; crusted fresh trout with charred brussel sprouts and beet quinoa...DELISH!! Their clams in butter wine sauce is great! “A great coffee shop located inside Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain. You do have to be attending an event or staying on campus to enjoy the coffee shop. They have an excellent selection of drinks and snacks too.”

The ginger molasses cookies we bought were perfect in every way and exactly what we were craving! As we got back on the highway, my husband said that the cookies made the whole stop worth it!
