Tucked away a few miles from Asheville (also near the delightful Pisgah Brewing Company), Black Mountain provides a unique tasting experience focused on flights of dry cider and sesssion mead. Most are traditional and lightly soured, which is a very nice change of pace from conventional big-label ciders and meads, which, although the scene is changing, are typically a bit sweet for my tastes. Such a great spot. We were a little nervous to enter as it's located in an industrial area and the windows are covered but once inside we felt very comfortable. Belinda was super welcoming and explained the flights and tasting options to us. The other customers were fun too, comparing our notes and just chatting in general. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting and took a growler to go. Cider over Beer any day. Would definitely visit again if ever in the area.
