“Stopped by for a cup of coffee on a road trip from Charlotte to Nashville and this blew my expectations out of the water! Friendly and warm environment. Excellent drip coffee and the best chocolate croissant of my life. 12/10.”
“Such a unique brewery! Lots of Farmhouse style ales, saisons, and lagers. Many were refreshingly low in alcohol and all were extremely flavorful. A great stop after leaf peeping on the Blue Ridge Parkway!”
“Casual vibe and atmosphere. There’s plenty of beer and food options for the whole group. (N/a, cider, and seltzers too) The service is always friendly and prompt. Dog friendly too. ++”
“The Davis Country Store & Cafe is an amazing place with a great atmosphere and lovely goodies for eating while walking the trails of Old Fort! Their merchandise is very unique and vibrant, and all items are fairly priced so you're not breaking the bank. The staff is also super friendly, which was a breath of fresh air. I would definitely recommend visiting this place, especially for the coffee and pound cake!”
“I had the pepperoni pizza. It was pretty delicious as well as filling. There are multiple different types of pizza. It’s all baked in an oven that was imported from Italy. It also has outdoor seating by Mill Creek.”
“The best place in Old Fort to get ice cream and a better alternative than McDonalds to get a hamburger.Parking: Some parking spots are reserved for the FamilyCare business.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp up to the door with handles.”
“Great food, great service, and friendly staff. I will say that I had a new guy making my wrap and I understand he needed experience but man, when the other employee saw him struggling she should have helped him. Would be 5 stars if not for that”
“Large servings of good home style foodClean, great pricesLike going to eat at a relatives homeShe really makes you feel welcome and appreciated!!!Don’t let the outside fool ya, great place”
“I arrived around 8:45a on a Monday. There was no line and we were served very quickly by a friendly person. The restaurant was clean and seating was available. There were quite a few folks there enjoying their breakfast or cup of coffee. Everyone was friendly and kind.Kid-friendliness: When I was there there was a child doing play dough at one of the tables. They were fine with that.”
“Love their ice cream!, my hot fudge wasn't hot. A little sad about it but ate it anyway. They need more help there. One person making food orders and waiting on customers and making all kinds of things, is Alot on one person. Store needs updating. But still a good place to stop.”
“Check your orders. Order from the app stop going through the drive thru and stop wasting gas..Parking: G.D. bottle neck. Park and order from the APP stop wasting gas stop going through the drive thruKid-friendliness: Not my sharp corners so where your kid is running around they don't get cut from a sharp cornerWheelchair accessibility: Ramps galore”
“Love this place. My wife and I first had breakfast and coffee here one Saturday and was blown away by everything from the friendly service, food/coffee, and the unique atmosphere. Came back for lunch on a Sunday and was impressed even more. Staff actually enjoys working there too and it shows with their excitement over the menu and their friendliness. For the atmosphere it is obvious a lot of heart and thought went into the design where the legacy of the original business here was preserved and merged into the eatery it is now. This place makes Black Mountain that much cooler. Bravo P&P!”
“The Cuban cuisine was on point 150% (we resided in South Florida most of our lives). The courteous and knowledgeable staff were excellent as well. My wife and I enjoyed cortaditos (50-50 steamed milk w/Cuban espresso), pastelitos, croquettes, Cuban sandwich and roasted pork. And yes we're full, LOL. Atmosphere was great as most of the tables were full. A little slice of South Florida in Black Mountain, NC (who would have thunk that?)”
“Took my family there while visiting Black Mountain. We cant say enough on how great the experience was. Friendly staff, great food, great service, great owner. He came to talk with us for a little bit while we were waiting on the food. I wish there was one were we lived. They saw my family and I a few times while we were there.Thank you!!BlakeKid-friendliness: I have 4 kids ranging from 3 to 13 and they treated them amazingly. They even gave them pictures to color while waiting. Very friendly staff”
“First time and would love to go back our server was, Dee she was very nice and professional and was very helpful with my blind friend she brought his drink and told him that it was at 11 o'clock which is where she put it on the table.”
“This is a cute restaurant with lots of character. My coffee mug said, "Ew...work." you order and pay at the podium and then lots of options for seating. The coffee is very flavorful without being bitter. The burrito was the best one I've ever had. My husband had the traditional and said it was really good. Service waa great. Definitely recommend for a tasty inexpensive breakfast.”
“The food was excellent--in taste and presentation. Ordered seered cauliflour on quinoa and kale--wonderful! The architecture of the place is interesting and intriguing. Greg and Dianne were musicians who kept us hanging around, drinking and laughing!Prices were a little high, and I wish there was twice the selection.”
“Audrey I believe was behind the bar was superb. Handled the busy house on her own - even with a few pain in the butt customers. Thank you for such great drinks and entertainment is a understatement. He was amazing!”
“We traveled from Asheville to the lakeand this place was a hit I'd post pictures but as you can tell nothing was left.... the workers friendly; the food 10/10. It is definitely about the hypeKid-friendliness: Super nice and understanding with my kid loved that”
“Wonderful vibes with cozy dining room, and great patio. Food was amazing ? so many gluten free and vegan options.Craft cocktails with everything made in house and fresh. Super friendly and knowledgeable ”
“For many many reasons, we had not been to the Red Rocker for close to a year because it had just gone downhill. We would go there at least 2x a month, so we decided to give it a try again on Friday and we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was fine, but the food was excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes had a wonderful, creamy quality to them, and the seasonal vegetables were not cooked to the point where they were absolute mush. They still had a little bit of crunch to them. It was delicious. One suggestion…..the website is not accurate as far as the menu. One of our favorite desserts was always the peanut butter pie. It still shows it on the website, yet we were told they no longer have it. There are some other discrepancies as well. To prevent people from being disappointed, I think it would be helpful to have the menu updated on the website. We will go back again.”
“A cute and cozy cafe nestled in the heart of Black Mountain! The atmosphere of the physical space is really lovely. There is lots of seating and wifi amidst a calm setting. I was happy to find no distractingly loud music playing, which I’ve noticed has become popular in coffee shops. The barista who made my latte was very sweet, and made a beautiful rosetta! Plenty of pastries. They even had gf + vegan options from the local company, Dolci di Maria. A cute little spot to hit up before/after a hike or yoga class (shoutout Black Mountain Yoga)! Definitely check it out.Dietary restrictions: Gf + vegan pastry options! Limited, but they’re there!”
“Great beer, great staff, excellent service. This is, by far, the best brewery in Black Mountain and a contender for best brewery in the Greater Asheville area. It’s a must visit and we will be back in Nov, if not sooner!”
“The best Mexican restaurant in McDowell & Burke Co! Very affordable for those on a budget. The employees are so nice and friendly! They do get busy and seating can be hard to get when real busy. My favorite dish is the ACP! Food is always fresh and tasty and they have the best salsa bar! My go to place for Mexican cuisine!”
“Very cute place right outside of downtown Black mountain. Great selection of food choices, beers and wines. Inside seating looks nice, sat outside and enjoyed being able to get some fresh air and just see the sights while having a meal.”
“Fabulous seafood meal that is the best in town. Great selections on menu...Not your typical fried seafood choices. Oyster choices were wonderful. Drink menu was great. If you want local dining at its best, Que Sera/Tayloe's Oyster Bar is the best choice.”
“What a gem of a restaurant to have found in Black Mountain! The authentic German & Bavarian style food was EXACTLY what my wife and I were searching for on this trip. The Schnitzel, Smoked Bratwurst, Saurkraut, Fried Potatoes, German Potato Salad, and Spätzle were all to die for. This food transported us right back into our trip to Europe, eating food just like this throughout Germany & Austria. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!We took an Apple Strudel to go because the food was so filling, but their dessert options were so enticing. Please visit this cozy, tasty place during your next visit to the area.”
“We just happened upon Bowl in the Wall and could not have been more fortunate. The bowls were so fresh and delicious!! An absolute hidden gem.Vegetarian options: Build your own bowl was a fabulous option for vegetarians including teriyaki tempeh that was delicious!”
“Food was creative & well prepared. The pot roast left alot to be desired, nothing like a mom makes. Everything else was perfection. The room was loud, although it wasn't full. Needs noise panels on ceiling or something to take away the echo & add ambiance.”
“Excellent cinnamon rolls, this frosting is AMAZING. Always fresh, staff are the definition of what fantastic customer service is. I'm usually picking up between 1 -4 dozen for work and even at the last minute, they accommodate and have what I need. Couldn't ask for better Cinnamon Rolls or customer service.”
