You will love this quaint restaurant. Located in a beautiful historic home. First you order at the front and pay. I recommend anything off the breakfast menu. Then you are seated. The staff is warm and friendly, super accommodating. The food was homemade with local ingredients. Definitely recommend!

Dietary restrictions: They did have gluten-free options available like toast.

Louise's is always great. They were able to fit a large group (9 of us) outside which was a little surprising and super awesome. The servers were pretty nice, although one lady did interject when we were praying for our meal, but otherwise the staff were very friendly and helpful. The line is always pretty long, but the food is definitely worth the wait.

Parking: There isn't a ton of parking (like everywhere in black mountain) but there are several free public parking lots within an easy walk.

Always a good experience. Come early, if you don't want a long wait. Lots of locally sourced food.

Great location. And food. Crowded on weekends, surely due to said greatness.

I had breakfast here two mornings. The first morning, I had pancakes. They were good. I especially liked their vanilla syrup. The eggs and potatoes I had the second day were not that good. The potatoes and my English muffin were overcooked and the eggs were bland. Overall, probably not worth the price (around $20 with juice and tip).

On our 2 year anniversary trip. My wife and I (plus our 6 month old baby girl) woke up early to take a walk in town. Deciding to get breakfast so we stopped at Louise’s Kitchen. From the time we talked up the steps we were greeted with smiles from the staff. They explained you order first then sit down. Food came fast, we did get here before the rush of the morning because as we ate the line to order grew to the sidewalk. Our food was good. I think that was the best biscuit I’ve had in a long time. Super fluffy with a butter taste. It was wonderful just sitting on the front porch with my wife and daughter enjoying our anniversary breakfast.

What a wonderful gem right in downtown Black Mountain. Order at the podium, pay there, and someone will seat you. Full table service. The breakfast is delicious! Grits are excellent, infused with a little rosemary which gives them an awesome flavor! The bagels are great too. I'll definitely return to this restaurant when I can! Service is excellent.

The food was acceptable though nothing to write home about. The food delivery service was quick. The rest, not so much. They have this weird and apparently signature habit of holding everyone outside, taking orders and money outside, then having folks wait outside for a table. It's pretty uncool to take the money up front, including tip, then make them wait, let alone outside. I personally have an ethical problem with this pattern, but that could just be me.

Parking is poor and unpaved and on the back side of the building. This is very much NOT handicap friendly. First-timers will have a problem figuring out where to go and how the weird process works. Staff seems oddly proud of their practices, though.

We won't be return.
