We came in from out of town to relax and have a drink. I ordered coffee and my wife ordered a martini. We didn’t know that you weren’t able to have alcohol outside (although someone at another table had a martini as well). We had our dogs with us and we apologized profusely when the bar manager Victoria came outside and mentioned it. As we were gathering our things, we could hear her inside talking about how she’s tired of this “sh*t” , telling patrons at the bar. Initially we ignored it since we were trying to have a relaxing time in a new town. She kept on so I went in and asked if she was talking about us loud enough to where we can hear her outside! She apologized and said there are signs on the tables. First of all, there was one sign on a table that was written on what looked like a piece of paper and you could barely read the words. There was NO sign on our table and she said people take them off. I don’t like people insinuating that I’m doing something I didn’t do. We paid a 30 percent gratuity for the service we received and this is the treatment your customers receive?! Unbelievable! I told her it’s probably not in her best interest to insult and berate customers that are spending their hard earned money in your town.

July 2024. Marjie and I came into town for a drink. All the usual spots were packed. When we came across The Station there was live music, room at the bar, variety of beers and other , and cooling cross breeze. Marjie enjoyed the White Squirrel drink in honor of Z & L’s neighborhood mascot. Then we finished the evening driving around looking for a place to watch fireworks. There were thousands of people filling every parking lot lot like it was football tailgating night. Once it was dark, and 9:30, and still hot, but no fireworks - we just headed back to Montreat and watched them on TV with Lizzie and Grandparents.

The station I remember visiting was in Morganton, so I cannot contribute to the station in Black Mountain.

If you are looking for a to die for espresso martini in black mountain this is the place to go. The bartenders were lovely and very informative (this was my first espresso martini!), the ambiance was very light and calming, and there was cute merchandise you could also buy inside. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Would easily recommend and can’t wait to come back!
