I had high expectations for this place. I can only give it a 3 or 4/5. The atmosphere was amazing, however the food and service were pretty average. We started off with a salad that was good, then focaccia was good but wish it was warmed up. The mussels were AMAZING, definitely our favorite dish. Such a good experience! We were visiting Blowing Rock for the weekend, and I was nervous about limited vegan options! Thankfully we came across Cafe Violette and called ahead to make a last minute reservation. Our server Ellen was incredible and very knowledgeable when it came to which dishes could be made vegan. Everything was amazing and I always love a farm to table, local restaurant! Will definitely be back next time we are in town!

We were super excited to dine at Cafe Violette! The service was underwhelming. We often had to call someone over and were never asked how the food was. For fine dining, I anticipated someone engaged in if we were enjoying the food and drinks. The escargot could have used more garlic and salt, although the snails themselves were high quality.
