Well I chose Speckled Trout for my 50th birthday lunch because we have been there several times and always had a good experience. This was not one of those times. We arrived just after our reservation time and was seated by 1134. We did not see our waiter for 25 minutes. At 1159 he decide to bring us water and get our drink and app order. We got the hikers plate. Major disappointment for a charcuterie plate. There were 5 pieces of meat 3 pieces of cheese and mostly picked veggies. Not worth the money. I got the hunter sandwich as my meal and again was extremely disappointed. The meatball must have been steamed as they had no texture of flavor. I didn't even finish it. So after all this we were sitting enjoying our drinks and desert when the manager came over and informed us we had 10 minutes to finish as they had another reservation for our table. When I informed him of our extended wait for service all he could say was well I can cover your old fashion. I declined. We paid our extremely over priced bill and left. We will never go back. If you are going to run people from tables then at least have your staff be on top of their tables. Our waiter was pleasant but the service was sporadic at best. We had to ask for drinks several times before getting them. Done with this place.
The hostess, waitstaff, bartenders and bus staff were amazing on Friday, November 29th around 8pm. Despite being extremely busy, they made it possible for us to sit with our of town friends who had a similar reservation. The drinks, food and service were wonderful.

This was my first time visiting the Speckled Trout. I actually enjoyed my trout po boy. Not a fan of wheat bread but it was tasty. Staff were friendly and it was a decent experience for a Sunday afternoon. I would definitely go back to try the other dishes.

We were informed that the wait time would be over 2.5 hours; however, we were offered two seats at the bar, which we took. The service was impeccable, and the waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly. The food arrived quickly, and the presentation was top-shelf. My boyfriend had the trout nachos, which he said were delicious, and I had the smoked trout with collards and street corn, all delightful! And I definitely recommend the Cowboy Camp!!

Great craft cocktails!
Plenty of beer and wine to choose from. I had the cracker crusted trout, Gouda grits, and Mac n cheese. Ok so they use penne noodles for that but it was still delicious! Everything on my plate was delicious! My wife had the farmhouse burger and said it was also delicious!

Stopped by The Speckled Trout today while visiting Grandfather Mountain, and wow… I ordered the speckled trout po’ boy with fries, and it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Partly because I was hungry, but mostly because I love exploring different flavors of fish—and everything tasted incredibly fresh, from the collard greens to the fries. I rarely give a meal a 10/10, but The Speckled Trout definitely deserves it. Fantastic job, guys! I’ll be back for sure!

We drove up from Charlotte to spend the day in Blowing Rock, choosing this as our lunch spot. And seriously, Speckled Trout was worth the drive alone! We had apps, lunch, and drinks- standouts included the baked brie appetizer, the trout, and the most amazing succotash I've ever had in my life. Never thought I'd feel such affection for succotash, but here we are. We'll definitely be back many times again!

Had a fantastic lunch here with a great server, Matthew. Sat outside in covered porch with an excellent view of Main Street. The Brie appetizer was delicious as was the Trout Nachos. Overall just a great experience.
