Best Western Mountain Lodge
We had a party of 10 come in 08/10/25 with no reservation. We had to wait about 20 minutes, our server was Wendy. She was AMAZING. She was so nice, patient, kind to my grandkids. This woman was running the bar, washing dishes and being a waitress. She needs a HUGE bonus because she did ALL this with a smile and such a kind voice. I really hope the owners see this message.

We just got into Boone and went into Applebee’s to have dinner. The restaurant was practically empty, but we were told there would be a 12 minute wait because they were backed up. There were less than 20 people in the entire restaurant. We said we were leaving all they said was have a nice day they could care less about their customers and service will never go back.

So I just got to Boone, North Carolina to start a project for the next two years and immediately learned that I will never go back to Applebees.
Mark M. Behind the bar couldn’t have been more into himself and unappreciative of anything going on around him.
I got the 2 for $25. Not only did it all come out at the same time, but my to go bag had no plastic silverware condiments nothing. I mean everything came out at the same time. No time to enjoy my appetizer. He kept pushing Everything out. The lady who brought my food could care less about anything going on in the restaurant as four daughters of the restaurant employees were up in a corner eating and taking their time. And that was all they cared about. I tried to tell her I had no silverware, but she’s up eating with the kids, everybody was up with the kids. They could care less about the customers in the restaurant.
I was planning on staying for at least two or three beers. Before I could even get my second beer sipped on I got the check. I was hoping to order dessert as I walked there from the hotel. I was gonna spend a little bit of time. But no,
There was four people at the bar. They probably have room for about 20 total so they were very dead at the bar. All he could care about was getting his tip and getting me the hell out. Unprofessional, rude as hell and I’ll never go back.

Was there around 1:00 today. They wasn't busy at all. First the waitor brought the wrong drinks. Ok we can deal with that. Then we order. Got our salads. OK. Then the guy comes back said he forgot to put one of our orders in so it would be late coming out. So my daughter and I got our meal while our friend had to wait. She finally got hers and her food was not correct. My daughter asked the guy so what happened to our appetizer. He said hang on. While we watch him go put in the computer. He forgot to put our appetizer in as well. At that time we asked for the manager. She did take off the appetizer and our friends plate from the bill. Then went over to the guy where they talked about us. The restroom wasn't very clean either. Needless to say we want be back.
Wasn't quick but wasn't slow. The Rock cardboard cut-outs scattered around the restaurant were interesting.

Came in with husband and kids. Its had been years (5 or 6) since we’ve been to an Applebees and this Applebees reminded of us why we probably don’t go. Waitress was new and so she had another waitress help her, which both were nice. We ordered the pretzel and beer cheese appetizer which was delicious. Then we order the regular entrees which my kids got something from the kids menu which they both loved. They really enjoyed their yogurt and strawberries. My husband and I both got the Parmesan sirloin with the shrimp. Mine was cooked well but my husband’s shrimp was still raw and although we like to eat our steak rare, his steak didn’t look cook all the way. He tried to be a champ but when he realized food was not cook properly he chose not to eat it. I guess the waitress realized this and had her manager take it off our bill, then she gave us our check while still eating. We wanted to get something for dessert but since we had already received our check to pay we decided not to get anything else because I guess they just assumed we wouldn’t order nothing else. Food is mid. The appetizer probably was the best thing that my husband and I both ate. 2/10 experience.

This past weekend my family and I came in for a quick lunch. The food was delicious. The service was quick and friendly. The manager, Kenny, took time to come by our table and check on us. Just all around a wonderful experience.
