Everyone was so kind. The food was very good and beautifully presented. It was nice to receive bread at the beginning, but that was nothing to speak of. We had the trout, emu and the chocolate torte which was delicious as well. Crazy drive to get there for someone who isn't use to the mountains.

The Best overall multi-stars restaurant experience from the time we entered the parking lot beginning with a Happy Birthday Valet Welcoming! From the Hostesses inside the door to our servers throughout our entire sister's birthday dinner/ dessert was heartwarming and an uplifting dining experience ever,anywhere! Our car was waiting when we exited the door with resounding Happy Birthday salutations, the caring staff and food was ample,tasty and greatly appreciated. The food was well prepared and ample.Our compliments to the chef. Well Done, Many Thanks. Many Blessings to All at Gamekeeper.

We enjoyed the food and the service. This restaurant is not for a handicapped person, though. The ramp to the restaurant is long and somewhat steep. A very nice young man was the valet and was helpful with my husband's walker. Staff was helpful with the doors. We would definitely recommend this place, despite a few glitches.

I rarely give a five star across the board, but wow! Not just the food, the ambiance, our well-informed server ( thanks, Summer!), even the parking is so well thought out. One thing to know is the setting is very hilly and there are stairs to get up to the restaurant entrance.

We had not just a lovely meal, but a lovely dining experience from the time we drove up until we left. The ambience is great, it's quiet so you can have a conversation, the views(!), the food and the service are all excellent. Keep in mind two things: it's on a twisty mountain road, so plan your alcohol intake accordingly so you have a safe drive back to wherever you're going, and if you have mobility issues, call them to see if you can be accommodated. The restaurant is on the second floor and access involves a lot of steps.
We were able to snag a reservation very last minute via OpenTable. Quick 15 minute drive from Blowing Rock, with a curvy road the second half of the way there. Valet parking service was greatly appreciated, as it was chilly and the parking lot is steep. Once we got inside, we were greeted by friendly staff and immediately sat at our table, which was in the far dining room. Only seven tables in this room, so the noise level was minimal. We ordered two apps, the turtle soup, two entrees and dessert. Each dish was better than the previous one! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, but not so much so, that our conversation kept getting interrupted. From start to finish, the meal was two hours long, but the pace of the food coming from the kitchen was perfect, and drinks were refreshed in a timely manner. As we got ready to leave, we took an extra moment to walk through each dining area and admire the small details. We were also there during sunset and even though we didn't have a window table, the view could be seen from anyplace inside the restaurant and was stunning! We will most certainly be back as soon as we can!

For the cost not really that impressive. We had reservations at 7:30 and literally didn't get our food until 8:50. We waited on everything, it was like we were ghosts, terrible service.

Everything was divine and the food was very delicious, the only thing bad or not so good... is that they take a long time to serve you at the table, we spent more than 10 minutes waiting for a soft drink and then more than 15 minutes waiting to pay, however they are very sweet in the treatment....The place is very romantic...we would still return a thousand times...10000% recommended....the entire menu is delicious
