Higher Grounds is definitely a Boone classic! The service is always spectacular, and for that specifically, I highly recommend. There are a few things that could definitely be improved in terms of quality of drinks (i.e. I ordered black coffee, and the coffee was lukewarm and more than likely not made within the hour). The atmosphere is quaint and homey, but it could definitely use a few updates (i.e. the tops for a lot of the coffee jars for the beans by mass are missing/broken, and it definitely affects the quality of the quality of the coffee). Overall, I like this place. These are just a couple aspects that could definitely be improved.

Again, I always look for locally owned coffee shops to support small businesses as well as experience different coffees.

Everything this was excellent here, they went out of their way to make me a special request drink. The coffee flavor is fresh and smooth. I wil revisit next time on boone!

I was taken to another planet after drinking the first sip of coffee and an almond danish. People here are amazing, coffee will blow your mind! The highlight of my day, everything's much prettier outside after you finsh, absolutely beautiful!

We stopped here while on vacation. Friendliest staff and the coffee was so smooth. Our plans for the day were cancelled due to the weather and we got to hang out here and play board games as a family! Great vacation detour!

One of the best in town (Blowing Rock, Boone & Banner Elk) spacious, delicious, comfortable, with gifts for everyone and and ice cream bar! Excellent location near the movie theater, great staff and wonderful ambiance, go!

I have never left a review ever for any business but had to for this. Today my family stopped here for cappuccino, iced latte, and hot latte. My daughter got her iced caramel latte first and said it was not good. She actually made a face when she drank it, it was so bad. I got my cappuccino next and also found it undrinkable. It tasted bitter and burnt. My son’s hot latte was the same. When we told the barista our drinks were not drinkable she said there was nothing she could do and could not give us a refund. We threw them away and went to 7 Brew and got really good drinks.
