We had a very excellent experience at Howard Station. The moment we arrived, Alaina welcomed us and made us feel at home. She is very friendly, the food arrived quickly. The food was excellent and service was top notch. She even offered to go drink when we are done. This restaurant will be our go to place to eat when we are in town
When I think Boone, NC—I think of Howard Station. I first tried it in 2023, but since—every time I come to Boone, I have to have either the brisket or pulled pork. Don’t let that deter you from the wings, they’re also amazing! Everything is full of smoke flavor. You can even smell it a street away most times. This place is great.

We went to visit Boone and see a movie. Forget The Local! It had too strong social agenda. We wanted fantastic meal. We will return just for Howard Station BBQ! Best BBQ I have ever had. Period. Fried smoked wings with Jamaican rub was sooooo good. No sauce needed. Smoked Mac n cheese was mouth watering (was that Gouda in there)? Ribs fell off the bone. Ask about secret taco menu. Fantastic service! All the staff were very welcoming! Loved roof top bar area. We drove 1.5 hrs to visit and will return just for Howard Station.

Excellent smoked items. I ordered the sampler platter and tried them all. The pulled pork and brisket were very good. The ribs were delicious. However, the pulled chicken was too dry for me, and I was surprised it came as white meat. I much prefer dark, especially when slow cooked. Sides were okay.
They were incredibly welcoming and attentive. Great people.
The wood booth/bench wasn’t so comfortable.

Sunday night. The sign on the door and online says they are open until 10:00 pm. I arrived at 8:40 and the door was locked, employees were cleaning and closing inside. I left a function early so so could get here in plenty of time. I won’t do that ever again.
