Clean place, a bit overpriced for breakfast fare. Home fries are overcooked. Parking is an issue- a notice on the front door would be helpful. 3 our 3 staff had no clue about parking issues across the street.. management should take 2 minutes to teach staff...we were dealing with emails from parking monitoring service on our phones instead of enjoying each other's company. Nice ambience.$17 omelets are of questionable value.

Instead of making a two top wait for an undisclosed amount of time, and then proceeding to seat a 4 top followed by a 6 top that came in after us, how about you give an accurate time of when you expect to be able to seat us. Never have I not been told to wait and then not been given a timeframe of how long I should expect to wait. I’m especially mad because the host made it sound like a two top wait will take less time than a bigger party would, then we watched two bigger parties come in after we were put on the waiting list get sat first. There is much better service elsewhere, so don’t waste your time on this place like I did.
Quaint little breakfast spot. They have an amazing stuffed French toast I highly recommend.

Best eggs Benedict I have ever had. Benedict Odysseus. With cheddar instead of feta and add sautéed mushrooms. The chefs know how to cook and it’s sooooo tasty! Everything was delish- even the latte. My husband said his omelet was easily the best he’s ever had. The waitress remembered all of our order and was very helpful with some of the parties gluten and dairy allergy/ sensitivity.
Great restaurant. A must visit while you visit Boone!

Omgosh! This food was delicious!! Go here! The vibe is chill, the music is good and the right volume, and the service was helpful and excellent! I got the candied yam latte, delicious! I'm probably gonna dream about it. My daughter got the pistachio pumpkin latte and it was also yummy! The Eggs Odysseus, fantastic! So full of all the flavors! Everything I tried was full of flavor and nicely presented. There is plenty of seating inside and in nice weather I believe they have outdoor seating. The bathrooms are clean. They do have work space areas and plugs available. I cannot speak on the dairy and egg allergy food here, because those kids were not with me and I was eating all the food! Surely I would eat here again, this is a no brainer!

Literally one of the most incredible, cute, home-feel places to eat in Boone. Such flavor, mismatched silverware and tablecloths, thoughtful recipes - this place is timeless.
Update: The new location is very nicely done, not too far from the oldie goldie. Thanks for the great service, Melanie’s! And better wait times!

I came from out of town with the intention of trying one restaurant and one coffee shop in Boone. Melanie's was the choice for brunch. Melanie's apparently serves burgers without mentioning that they are medium rare. I would have never ordered a burger or would have emphasized well done. Which my burger I cut down the middle to find there was bloody beef juice running out of it. I immediately sent it back to the kitchen I was with two friends and my son. The other burger took 30 minutes to come out and by this time my friends had already eaten and we were beginning to fall off schedule waiting for it. So we requested that they remove it from the bill which they did and they tried to offer the burger for free but at that point the entire experience was just ruined. It was honestly such a strange dining experience. When we told the staff at the front desk they were rude, had a terrible attitude and our table was directly behind the front desk and we could hear them bickering about us and that just added another level of terrible to this uncomfortable dining experience. I do not recommend Melanie's unless you want a raw burger with a side of awful service. As for the ambiance? Bickering staff seems to cover it.

Restaurantji Recommends
Had a great meal here with the wife and an old-time friend and therapist really great environment really fun and food is spectacular I recommend this place to anyone unfamiliar with it
This place came highly recommended, but my experience did not live up to that. We started with coffee and were immediately told the only sweetener options were stevia or raw sugar. Stevia is, in my opinion, the worst non-sugar option, and a restaurant of this size and price point should offer alternatives like Sweet’n Low, Splenda, or Equal. Stop gatekeeping how people should be allowed to sweeten tea and coffee. It's not bougie, it's annoying.
We ordered the Fruit Waffle and the Autumn Omelette, and unfortunately, both were disappointing. The waffle was topped with frozen fruit, yes frozen, and ice-cold yogurt. While it looked appealing, this presentation made it impractical to eat. The waffle was cold before we could eat it, so we didn't. Serving the yogurt and fruit separately would make far more sense.
The omelette was supposedly made with sausage, but it was non existent or if there were a couple scraps the were hidden under an overwhelming amount of spinach. There was a little goat cheese, but not enough to make up for the overcooked, rubbery eggs. A good omelette is a basic mark of a capable cook, and this one fell far short.
Overall, I cannot recommend this place. For the prices charged, the food quality needs to be much better.

I was disappointed in the bacon avocado eggs Benedict. Not much flavor and the eggs were overcooked. Difficult parking due to a lot of construction.
