Tasty food. Good service. We stopped there on a whim after getting a Christmas tree. I got the Philly, my husband got a burger, and we got the Mac and cheese bites. All were very good!

They’re playing music in the bar, but the kitchen staff is cranking their own music so loud that’s overwhelming the music in the bar. I asked that they turn one source off. They turned down the kitchen for a minute, and it was back to having to listen to two things playing against each other at the same time. I couldn’t finish my food and leave fast enough!!

The Wife and I stopped in for the 8oz center cut Sirloin . We walked in , We were immediately seated. The Waitress took Our drink orders and We placed Our food order. Within 20 minutes Our Steaks arrived and were excellent. The atmosphere was a little loud and boisterous, but this is a college town , so We kind of expected that , and didn’t let it bother Us I would definitely 100% recommend

Food was very underwhelming. Cheese sticks were empty. The breading was very thick. Marinara sauce came out of the fridge cold. Fries are very difference and an acquired taste. I had a chicken ceaser and my chicken was so dry that I could barely tell which was a croutons and which was chicken. Atmosphere was nice and pricing was good, but food is not good. First only time there

Small place with welcoming staff. Burgers were tasty, well cooked, and nicely adorned. The chili on the Cackalacky burger was definitely not from a can. Will definitely return and try their other menu items.

Great food, very chill vibe. We have been a couple of times now and really like it. The reason I gave it 3 overall stars is I had to wait a long time for the bathroom. They have two single bathrooms. Once the one opened up more than one person came out and said they were having a pow wow. Really? And one was a staff member. That was just rediculous to me.
This place is all about consistency. Great food and great atmosphere

Something about the nachos tasted super off. Like super bad taste and had me and my friend regretting our choice in getting them. I get it’s a busy Friday night, but 40mins for chips and salsa that comes out of a bag and jar is ridiculous. Definitely won’t be returning.

Went at dinner on a Wednesday. Very brisk business, lots of takeout being prepared. Perhaps the best wings we've had in years, and very reasonably priced. Great service from Haillie on just her second shift. A few more beers could be added to the menu.

We stopped in New River Grill recently in search of a good fried snack and cold beers. We weren't disappointed!
We sat at the bar, and were promptly greeted by the bartender. Two of us each ordered beers, and decided to split 8 wings in the medium buffalo sauce and an order of the fried pickle chips. The bartender was great, and quickly got our beers. A short time later, we had our food. There's nothing particularly songs were good, as were the pickle chips, though the breading on the pickle chips was a bit on the heavy side.
There's nothing particularly upscale or fancy about the decor or the menu, but if you're in search of a cold beer and a burger or wings, New River Grill is a great choice.
