Awesome breakfast! I had the eggs Benedict with chorizo and it was absolutely delish. Expect to wait for a seat and for your food, but boy is it worth it!
Fantastic food. Well worth a drive to get to it.
Hostess was surly. Eggs, grits, sausage, biscuits were mediocre. Has to apply salt to get some flavor. My guest ordered coffee, but it was too bitter to drink. I ordered decaf, but was not told they don’t have decaf coffee. I was served decaf Americano, and charged for same. No refills. I was charged $2.00 for using American Express, which came out to about 7% of our bill. In all, a very disappointing experience. On the positive side, it was very clean.
The coffee bar was exceptional. The menu was extensive and priced reasonably. There were so many tempting bread choices. The service was friendly and efficient. We met a local musician who played there whose marathon picture is above table 13. It is comforting to experience such a downhome ambience paired with such delicious food. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Worth the wait!
Service was great and the breakfast was delicious. Recommend the croissant sandwich, the oatmeal and the blueberry pancakes.
We tried this restaurant this morning and it was a horrible experience. The person who seated us was unwelcoming. She seated us in the strangest of ways (she cut through the kitchen and came out the other side and expected us to just understand that we were supposed to catch up to her).
Then the booth was set so that the gap between the seat and table was ridiculously large. It made no sense. We would need to sit at the edge of our seats to make it work. So we asked our waitress and she seemed so bothered that we had any concerns for our comfort. I asked her if this was normal and she replied that it wasn’t, but that she couldn’t ask the neighboring diners to move to get it in the proper position. The content of what she said wasn’t the issue, her bad attitude was. No apologies, just frustration with us, the situation, and clearly her life.
What a toxic place. We just got up and left.
We ended up down the street at the Troy Diner and had kind service and delicious omelets.
These folks figured out how to put flavors back into breakfast! I had the Brisket hash. Yum.
My go to place for breakfast
Here's a great place we highly recommend! During a recent trip to Boone, North Carolina, my team and I from FLF Construction LLC visited Sunrise Grill, and we couldn’t have been more impressed! From the amazing food to the friendly atmosphere, everything made our time there memorable. If you’re ever in Boone, we recommend stopping by Sunrise Grill—you won’t be disappointed! 100% recommended!

Second time I've been seated at the table in the back next to the fireplace and have been forgotten about. Neither time was busy - we usually go early around 8am to avoid the crowds. First time was 45+ minutes before I left. This time we waited 25 minutes and we attempted to get three different servers' attention, after seeing several tables after us getting their orders taken. The food is good, but the service can be abysmal.

Ordered the Bruce Wayne and the McBoone sandwich. Both of the meals were great and we look forward to returning.
