The food is praised for its surprising taste and quality, often better than typical college cafeteria food. The salad bar is always fresh and good, and the pasta station is consistently pretty good. The dining hall serves roasted chicken breast with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and Mac n cheese, but the chicken can sometimes be dry. On good days, it is satisfying, but on others, it feels tough. There are also several restaurants across from the dining room that accept campus card, debit, and credit cards. The Carving Board's sandwiches and wraps are particularly good, tasting super fresh with flavorful tomatoes. The international dishes are usually good, and the chicken, pasta, and side dishes tend to be decent. The Chick-Fil-A offers standard fare, convenient for quick meals, though grilled options are often unavailable. Mountaineer Grille's burgers and sandwiches are okay, especially with toppings, but the fries are plain and not very good. The dessert section sometimes offers dollar donuts, which are surprisingly tasty, but desserts can be hit or miss.
