We stopped here for an evening cocktail after walking our dogs and it was absolutely wonderful!
The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, the cocktails were absolutely DELICIOUS, and the side patio was so charming! We met Carol who must’ve been the owner and had a lovely conversation about all the potted flowers and decor. It’s clear how much time and intention was put into this space and we are so glad we decided to stop in - can’t wait to return and enjoy a full meal next time!

We wanted a nicer dinner for our last night in Brevard. We were intrigued by the menu at Blind Mule.
The vibe inside was… interesting. It definitely seemed as though it was trying to be high end, but fell a little short.
We started with the Mediterranean feta small plate as our app. WOW! This was delicious. The flavors were great and the accoutrements were a great balance.
Then we had the eggplant and lamb small plate and the duck empanadas. The eggplant and lamb was spectacular. Truly the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly cooked and spiced. My only complaint was that it was a small plate and not an entree.
The tikka masala duck empanadas were good. But the tikka masala flavor was overpowered by the sauces. Even on its own, the flavor was minimal.
Then we had the short ribs as our main. It was fine. But it was also boring. It was a tiny portion size for the price, and only had kale and a small baguette with it. It needed something else to go along with it.
All in all it was good. Nothing was bad. The eggplant and the feta were the standouts.

I could not recommend this restaurant more highly. It is lovely and stylish with a warm atmosphere and outstanding service. The food is exquisite, featuring a wide variety of excellent dishes with farm to table freshness, taste and quality. The menu is supported by a wine selection suitable for the wonderful chef’s creations. As if all of this were not enough, the location is marvelous - right next to the beautiful Lake Toxaway.
Addition: we dined at The Blind Mule last night and it is better than ever. Absolutely wonderful meal!

My partner & I had an amazing experience dining here tonight. The salads and tapas we ordered were amazing, and our server Alex was so kind and attentive. We would definitely come back here on another weekend trip to NC.

This location has been through a lot of changes but very impressed with the current Blind Mule. Very classy decor, service was great and thoroughly enjoyed our food, especially the duck that is on the small plate menu-excellent. Will return.

Top notch service , super fast turn times. Food was good but the fried soft shell crabs batter was so thick you couldn’t taste the crab at all. A light dusting of flour would vastly improve this dish. But having said that , I do love this restaurant and recommend it.

Food was exceptional, service was attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only thing we would improve was more descriptions of their menus. Had to ask several times. But do not let that hold you back from trying this place! Just ask questions, be annoying, and enjoy.

Looking for a new spot for dinner my husband and I went to The Blind Mule. We used to go to Greenville frequently but lately we head to Asheville for our date nights. We decided to head to Brevard as it’s an easy drive from our home Fletcher and I had met the owners Carol and James at a trade tasting last year but had not visited their restaurant until tonight.
Being self proclaimed wine and food connoisseurs we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The wine list is well thought out and nicely curated. I was completely blown away by the Italiano spritz. That might be my new summer spritzer if I can find the liquor! Our wine choice was the Sancerre and it paired perfectly with everything we ordered.
The small plates offered a lovely variety of options and this is how we love to eat.
We had the marinated olives- my only wish is that they were warmed- it’s just how I love them - but they were delicious.
The pan fried artichokes were fabulous. They reminded us of the ones we had in Spain that we still talk about. We also loved the octopus ceviche- just a hint of heat but lots of that citrus flavor.
We couldn’t stop yet so we added the special of goat cheese that was served with pistachios, cranberries and dried apricot - think trail mix with a lovely herbaceous goat cheese. As alway my only complaint was that I needed more bread. This is a theme for me at restaurants- more bread or crackers with cheese and dips! Please!?
Our final small plate was the langostino and crab cake- I wanted about 3 more! Fantastic!
Of course I had to have dessert and they had me at the Italian chocolate hazelnut mousse parfait! It was not too sweet and not too rich and that crunch just completed the culinary experience! Deliziosa!
We will be back! Sorry I didn’t take more pictures but I was busy eating!

We eat at The Blind Mule for dinner about once a month, and every time, it’s a great experience. The food is consistently delicious, and we love how the specials are always changing—it keeps things fresh and exciting without ever sacrificing quality. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed evening out.
One of the standout touches is Carol, the owner. She regularly makes her way around the dining room, greeting familiar faces and engaging in friendly conversation. It makes the whole place feel more like a community than just a restaurant. You can really tell they appreciate their regulars.
Overall, we always look forward to our visits. Great food, great vibes, and a staff that makes you feel welcome—what more could you want?

The service and atmosphere was great 👍🏻. The food was lacking of seasoning on every dish we’ve had unfortunately. Scallops were good my friend said but quinoa was tasteless. Artichoke was all stringy and even the heart wasn’t soft. Wild mushroom gratin with a goat cheese - very little cheese and it wasn’t a gratin at all - no cheese no breadcrumbs. I’m pretty sure my veal chop wasn’t a veal. Tasted like pork and it was presented as a lamb chop by the waiter by mistake and it was none of it. Was quite tough, while the veal should be a very tender lean meet. Mushrooms in the sauce and the sauce were no taste. The raspberry tart - not too impressing either.
Good presentation, nice vibe, great service- food not so much
Cocktails were nice. Overall- overrated.

We have been without power for days and came here for the limited time comfort food menu. We had a great experience. She had an amazing meat loaf and I got a stellar cheddar cheese burger and fries. The owner even stopped by to say hello. Highly recommend!
