Every time we go, it is an exceptional dinning experience. The food is Michelin quality. Chef Adam, Chef Ken and manager Jacob try to give each guest a family experience. Food, service, atmosphere is no where else in WNC. Stan and Connie
We try to visit Square Root as often as possible when we're in the area. Both meals were quite tasty..We try, sometimes, to get something different from our normal favorites. This time I tasted the Rabbit Gumbo which was good, but it needed a little more seasoning, and bit more rabbit. My husband's trout, which he really enjoyed...Our old fashioned drinks were quite good and would get them again..All in all, it was a good meal....Server was good, and so were surroundings.....
We come here every year for our anniversary. The food is wonderful. We sit outside on the heated porch with our dog. The staff are so kind. The atmosphere great. Love this place!
This was my first visit, the food was very tasty.
Would definitely visit again.
I had the curry chicken, a little spicy, but very good.

The Brussels Sprouts appetizer was magical!
Salads were fresh, with great combos of veggies, cheese, nuts and fruit. The chicken Marsala and cedar plank salmon dishes were terrific. Service was impeccable and they work as a team. The GM, Jacob, came to inquire as we finished. Though living on opposite ends of the state, we knew some of the same people, which always gives one that welcoming feeling.
Best meal I’ve had in a long while.

Stopped by on the lunch hour and looked at the menu. saw they have eggplant parmesan, one of my absolute favorite dishes. Went back for dinner. It was amazing and half-price bottles of wine you can never beat. Truly, the ambiance, staff, food... everything on point. Even the little side salad was delicious with a homemade, tomato basil dressing. Highly recommend!

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Customer Service and Business Practices
My husband and I went to The Square Root in Brevard tonight around 6:30 PM. We are locals and have supported this restaurant for many years, but after tonight’s experience, we won’t be returning.
There were multiple empty tables and no one waiting to be seated, yet the host refused to seat us because we didn’t have five people. When we questioned this, the host turned to other staff members, who openly rolled their eyes in our direction.
This kind of attitude and rigid “policy” is incredibly disappointing—especially during a slow time when a local couple is simply trying to enjoy dinner. It’s a shame to see a once-great local restaurant treat long-time patrons so poorly.
We’ll be taking our business elsewhere.

I have eaten at Square Root for many years. In fact it was my go to for dinner when I bought fly fishing buddies to the area. Entrees have always been pricey but well prepared and fresh no complaints there. I was recently shocked to see their health department sanitation score in the low 80’s and has gotten lower each of the last three inspections. With several food handling violations that could get folks sick. I’m not sure what’s going on with this recent lack of management oversight and inability to hold up standards, but it’s sad to see the decline over the past year.

Quaint restaurant. A Brevard staple. Many restaurants here change over quickly and don’t survive the off season, but this one does.
The food is 90% great. The Cobb salad is delicious. Yummy soup and entree specials change regularly. My husband got the peach pork dish and it was 100% raw in the middle, but other than that- great. The pretzel charcuterie is fantastic. Admiral cocktail was pretty good - a little pricey for lack of kick to it.
Also beware of pricing. They don’t mark everything and dishes that sound simple are randomly $50+. Wine too!

100% must visit when in the area. The chef is on point with the trout dish. Local beers on tap, staff is there to keep you full.

Everything we had here was amazing and the prices are great! Very dog friendly outside, they even brought him several treats. This was our favorite place in Brevard, even ate there two nights in a row! Highly recommend the Pretzel Cheese Board, 5 Spice Tuna, Tuna Nachos, and the Hanger Steak!

Such a cute place with some local history. We enjoyed dinner tonight and dessert. The drinks were amazing! Brenton was our server and was very attentive and knowledgeable. Ask for him when you come in but I heard the other servers and they were very hospitable too! We tried the fall seasoned beets for appetizer and dessert was the peanut butter pie. Their decorator made the pretty flowers! They made our night perfect under the sting lights at the patio! Bravo!
