LOVE THIS PLACE! After a long day of rafting on the river this place is the perfect place to stop.
For price, taste, and the service from the staff it really is great. Also located right by the river making it great for pictures!
My personal favorites are the BBQ beef brisket, Mac and cheese, and turkey wrap! Highly, highly recommend!

The pulled pork was chewy and dry. The potatoe salad tasted like straight up mayo and potatoes and the macaroni and cheese was velveeta or craft at best

I don’t think bbq can be done better. I’m a local raft guide in the area (Wildwater), and I recommend all my customers come here. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very good. You can sit on the river and watch the paddlers come by. Don’t eat anywhere else in the gorge. This is the only place I recommend.

Amazing BBQ and that's coming from a girl from Texas. Exceptional service everytime we come grab some grub. It's cool that there's a spot for rafters and kayakers to pull in on the shore and grab some food as well for a short break. Amazing atmosphere. If you want to try some amazing local food definitely stop by- the chili cheese dog is my favorite and the banana pudding is killer!

What a great little spot with wonderful food! Recommended to us by our guide, Andrea, at Endless River Adventures. I got a wrap, while the rest of party got brisket, pulled pork, and mac and cheese. All was really good! And a great view of the river at the same time! Well worth the stop!

We stopped here on our way back from Cherokee and glad we did. Just a little place on the river with great food and scenery. The pulled pork was outstanding, just enough smoke for flavor with good sauce choices, nothing skimpy about it. The sides were good, particularly the baked potato salad and beans. I didn't care too much for the slaw. Great, quiet location, easy on and off the road.
Stopped on our way to Tennessee. Great food and great place to relax and watch everyone having fun on the water.

Absolutely amazing! Wasn’t my original plan but l’m so glad we stopped here instead the food was amazing the view is beautiful. The 2 men working were also very kind. I stopped at the bakery after at bought some cupcakes and they were delicious as well! I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in the area again!

AMAZING!!! Price was great, views are great, and the food was AWESOME! Recommended by one of the raft guides and we took a chance and was NOT disappointed! 10/10 would recommend the brisket sandwich with the potato salad! Whenever we come back to Nantahala after a long day out on the water, we are definitely coming back here!
Parking: There’s parking in the front and then to the right side is overflow parking. Plenty of space. If it’s full there’s a couple spots next to the Pizza by the River (do not go there ever even if it’s built…horrible/sad backstory of greedy developers)

Nice little BBQ joint right on the river. Awesome location, and a nice option when driving through the area.
I met the owner and he was a super nice guy! He explained to me that they're in a dry county and they cannot legally sell beer.
Kid-friendliness: Really fun place for kids! The river runs behind the shack and they can play and have a good time back there.
