Uncalled for rudeness by the grumpy owner, and extremely overpriced for bagels drinks and coffee. Don’t waste your time
Great place for coffee and breakfast. Great

Great coffee! The food is delicious and very filling. We tried a few different bagels, yogurt which was really good and the cinnamon roll was amazing as well.
Kid-friendliness: Provided wikki sticks for the kids!

My family and are I are extra thankful this year for the kindness and generosity of Jeff and Pam Pulley, the owners of Mountain Perks Espresso Bar & Cafe. Two weeks ago, my kids and I came to Bryson City to ride the Polar Express train with friends. GPS said I was only .5 of a mile away from my destination, but my car got stuck on the rocky road on a very steep mountain and I had no cell service. Turns out I inadvertently got lost very high up on the mountain (later we would found out I was 20 minutes away from the house we were staying). My kids and I walked to the nearest house that had a light on, and by the grace of God, Jeff and Pam took us in and helped us. Jeff and his neighbor, Keith, also got my car out of the ditch I backed into, and my kids and I were still able to make the train ride. Jeff and Pam didn’t have to open up their door and help three complete strangers, but they did with open arms. Jeff and Keith didn’t have to get my car out, but they did. Let this story remind you that there are truly amazing people in this world; Jeff and Pam (and Keith) are angels walking among us! My kids and I visited Jeff and Pam at their coffee shop the next morning, and let me just say, their food and coffee are delicious! I highly recommend going there if you are ever in Bryson City, and they are located right across from the train station!
Felt forced out by staff. We didn’t know they closed at 3 and were pointedly “reminded” that they were closed/closing soon despite having already ordered and were waiting on our food. They brought it out boxed in togo boxes and knotted in a bag. When we asked, the young man said “they’ve just been there all day”. Horrible service and hospitality. I was a server for years- they were very young and may have been ignorant to the fact that regardless of how close patrons come in to closing they get the same generous service as the first guests of the day, as service is a reflection of the establishment as it was we felt unwelcome and pushed out the door. I had high hopes, but we will not be back.

What a fantastic experience! These folks were working hard because one of the other breakfast places in town was unexpectedly closed on a Sunday morning. They had the line moving, the food flowing, and the coffee tasting great. And the best part is, they handled it all in stride.

Cute little coffee shop right next to the train depot. Excellent views and service. I enjoyed an unsweet flavored iced tea and my husband got a hot coffee. I enjoyed the avocado boat with a scoop of chicken salad. They also have a variety of desserts.

Cute little diner with great eats and espresso.
I have NEVER written a bad review before. 0 stars!!!!!! When we first walked in the owner yelled at us for not following the arrows on the floor. Owner was rude and the coffee was basically just milk. Not to mention it was extremely overpriced for the crappy coffee and food they served. Would NOT recommend. The owner also rudely kicked out a mother and a child for sitting in with their to go order when the cafe was empty. Also it was ironic that there were “be nice” signs all over the store, must be a reminder for the owner.

Great coffee shop with delicious bites, made with kindness and love. The chorizo poblano quiche is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. Seriously. I went back the second day and had it again! The coffee is great and made with attention and the service is impeccable. The proprietor is a delight. She knows all of the regulars and makes friends with the newcomers. A gem in the mountains. I took a pound of beans home. Don’t miss it when you come to Bryson City, NC

Loved the atmosphere, the people working, the coffee and the food! Very accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten free! I had an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese one morning and an everything bagel with egg and cheese the next morning!
My gluten eating friends also really enjoyed their drinks and croissant sandwiches!
