My children visited this place back in 2015. Came again and not disappointed. Hot fresh pizza, good portion of toppings. The location is just beautiful.

Such a great location along the river, offering tasty and optimally priced pizza in a comfortable setting. Seating is tight at the restaurant itself, but plenty of spots to spread out to around the site.

Food was pretty good. Staff was pretty quick to get our food to us. Came highly recommended by our raft guide as we passed it on the ride down the Nantahala River. We decided to try it for dinner one evening. Not disappointed.

We've passed Pizza By The River for the past 4 years on our way to Nantahala Lake, but until this year we never ordered a pizza from them. I ordered one on Friday night, and "Cindy" said "It will be ready when you get here". When I arrived, Cindy was already headed toward our car with pizza in hand. She delivered the delicious pizza with a very special, unexpected gift and said "Merry Christmas!". (It's July). What a wonderful, kind lady who makes a delicious pizza!

Absolutely loved the ambience of the place! Old music playing and a fire pit going on the side. Slices of pizza we're ready and only 3$. A whole pie took only 10-15 min and it was delicious. Great place for picky kids. Has. a great view of the river with the rafters and kayakers going by.

Love this place, good food, good people. I'm not sure what the hours are during the off season, but in summer it's always the place to be. The vibes are great right next to the river, and if you're a guide or a frequent kayaker, canoer, or other, you know this is a special spot in the gorge

They made several pizzas wrong and didn’t offer to refund the difference or to fix them. Very condescending, calling customers bud/buddy when trying to make it right. The pre-made crust is no better than the cheapest store bought frozen pizza.

Best pizza on the river... also the only pizza on the river. Average pizza, but super cool location. You can sit by the river and eat with the ducks and kayakers.

Me and a few others were rafting the river and decided to stop here and get some pizza. This is a very unique place, with hanging license plates and signatures all over the walls. The wait was around 20 minutes for our pizza, but it tasted great and it was a fun place to stay. The lady working behind the counter was kind and helped a lot. Overall great place!

I mean, it's not a real pizzaria, but great location and laid back atmosphere - friendly staff and the pizza was good. Maybe deserves a 4 but - support the locals and mom and pops.
