Great place to kayak and great selection of foods at the restaurant, great for a weekend trip.
We rented a two person duckie raft this weekend and paddled the Nantahala. Afterwards we were looking for somewhere good to eat and saw that River’s End Restaurant had some good options and we were already parked there. We were starving after a day on the river and chose to get the Mountain Fries as an appetizer, they were delicious and came out really fast! For dinner we got the salmon with vegetables and a side salad. It was delicious and prepared perfectly! We also got the Hawaiian delight 10” pizza! It was also very good! We will definitely be coming back here! I would even come just to eat there (even if I wasn’t running the river)! The food is great and so is the view! The service was also good! We had about a 10 minute wait before getting seated but it was well worth it!
Let me tell you how impressed I am with this restaurant!
This place was BUSY!!!! But they had the staff to accommodate it. I only waited 10 minutes for a table for 2. Our table had a great view of the water and people doing water sports. We were immediately greeted by our server and were well attended!
The highlight of this area and restaurant is TROUT 🐟 Even if you're not big into fish, I still highly recommend it! We got the blackened trout. It was so flavorful and spice-y (not spicy 🌶 if that makes sense) it didn't taste fishy at all!
Another thing that made me feel happy was seeing two of the staff members being friendly and laughing together. The vibe of this restaurant feels like a community or family. Good vibes all around. Happy employees = happy customers. Even on busy Saturdays!
After the incredibly fun but inevitably tiring kayaking excursion, my partner and I had an appetite that could topple kingdoms, and this placed delivered such a savory remedy to that affliction.
We both ordered the blacked trout (pictured above), and it was really good. Was not fishy at all, and had a nice sauce that paired with it.
It's really hard to go somewhere on the road that actually serves not mediocre vegetables, and that was a nice plus.
The brown rice was a mix of grains and lentils, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but we thought it was tasty!
Price wise, you're looking at $17-25 range per dish plus drunks fyi, im sure the price fluctuates.
The server we had had a great sense of humor, and that atmosphere felt very
healthy.
Plus, the views of people of the river are beautiful (even if people are wiping out and losing paddles rafting and kayaking, haha)
Great place. Our first stop to eat in Bryson City and we weren't disappointed! Service was great and the food and drinks were delicious! Beautiful setting and great atmosphere. Well worth a visit!!
Ordered the chicken Alfredo with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms. The waitress told me they “ran out” of grilled chicken and I would have to pick another protein. I chose steak. When the check came, I was up charged 12$. I brought it to the waitress attention and she said she told me there was an up charge. There was 6 people at the table and not one of us heard her say that. The waitress also snapped at my hard-of-hearing father when he couldn’t hear her in the loud restaurant. Ruined our experience :/
In an area with few vegan options, this place had vegan cheese options and a few items that were easily made vegan.
We absolutely love this place. We eat here every time we are visiting. There was no wait and got seated immediately. We sat inside, but were able to see the creek and see people in the water. We ordered salad and pizza. The food was amazing as always. The staff and waiter were super kind and kept checking on us. They also took 10% off for the Veteran’s discount.
We’ll definitely be back. 🍕🍺🥗
I previously worked here as a raft guide and in 27 years since it’s the still most amazing food around
I and my family have been eating here for almost 30 years, and I have tried almost every menu item, the best Pizza, better than NY,NY. The Sherpa is always amazing and new Onion Rings with Whiskey Sauce is the best. No matter what you are doing Whitewater, Hiking, Mntn Biking or just visiting the food is always worth it.

I'm currently 5 days away from finishing the Appalachian trail and can say with confidence that this is the best pizza I've had on the whole trail! Very impressed with the quality of the food here at this restaurant as well as the staff.
Alannah was very pleasant and went above and beyond.
By the way I ordered the super meat pizza, I can't remember the specific name but it comes with all the meats. I also like my pizza with a side of ranch dressing and the ranch was extra delicious. It tasted like it was homemade and not just squirt out of a bottle.
Overall I had a great experience here, got to charge up my stuff and keep on hiking. Very glad I stopped here and hope you get a chance to do the same
