Kalm Bistro is a clean, modern Vietnamese bistro on S Church St with warm, attentive, and efficient service. The food is absolutely delicious, great, and excellent, offering generous portions at very reasonable prices. The menu respects Vietnamese traditions while welcoming modern touches.
The pho is very flavorful, decent, and great, with a clear, aromatic, and deeply beefy broth. The Bahn Mi, however, is really the star of the show, with a crackly baguette and excellent flavor. Other standouts include fresh and great spring rolls, delicious tofu summer rolls, superb stir fried ramen with fried tofu, and well-balanced vermicelli bowls. The drink program is a sleeper hit, featuring boba teas that are a hit, like Thai tea and Mango Boba, served on ice.
The atmosphere is clean with a plain, modern bistro vibe. Overall, it is a thoughtful, well-executed spot that earns a spot in the regular rotation for comforting bowls and fresh, vibrant plates, making for a wonderful experience.
