Grant behind the counter was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped me pick out the right fish (wahoo) and cut I wanted for grilling. The fish tasted fresh and the store was very clean. I'll be coming here every time we come down to Buxton.

Great seafood, and now there is some great produce on offer. My family has been getting great seafood from Buxton Seafood for years. It’s always been a staple, but in the last few years they’ve gone over the top! The young woman who owns it has really great catches to offer and she’ll help you out with any questions. And, I was there a few weeks ago and picked up a few delicious ears of corn and perfect peaches.

If you’ve had or read reviews about the bad experiences here, you can now ignore that ☺️ new owners have definitely made positive changes. Super friendly, super clean (like amazingly clean), more selection of seafood and other treats/sauces/snacks. My husband and I have also been coming here for years and WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT ?

Very friendly and knowledgable owner and staff who catch the fish themselves. We purchased fresh wahu and mahi mahi that had beautiful color and nice size filets that were cut into steaks. Prices were reasonable. The store was clean and offered some extras like seasonings and grilling essentials. They gave us ice to pack the fish in our own cooler for our drive home.

NEW OWNERSHIP! We had all but given up on Buxton Seafood and even went looking for a new source of Tuna & Shrimp. The new owner is great. He sells fresh seafood and keeps the place very clean. He was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Tuna was amazing. This is the best place in the world for fresh tuna, but the really, really good stuff goes to Japan. Prices are competitive with what you find on Hatteras Island.

Everything we got here on our trip was delicious! And we came every day. Shrimp, scallops, mahi, wahoo, golden tile, and crab. Grant had great recommendations for cooking them as well. We went out to eat, but this was so much better quality and fantastic even with very simple preparations. Grant was also the nicest person we encountered in Hatteras and saved us last night with his weather recommendations and road condition update. Seriously appreciate him so much and will probably come back to Hatteras again next year, just to get his fish! 11/10 ⭐️s!
