Uncle Vinny's Pizzeria & Ristorante

We're a party of five people and we're told that we were only able to sit outside. The informed us that there's fans out there and that that would keep the bugs off of the table first off that was a lie. One of the fans weren't even working at the time. After about 15 minutes of being outside ( and it was a very hot day) someone finally came out and took our drink order it took them almost 30 minutes to bring it outside they should have told us all that we needed to know about this place but we heard great things about it from the locals. We told the server that we were ready to order but she said she would be right back it took her over 30 minutes to come right back so at this point it's been over an hour. At this point I walked inside and seeing that there was only three tables in the entire restaurant being used. This frustrated me even more. I walked up to the take-out counter and found our server standing there with an empty drink in her hand joking with one of the customers which I guess was a regular because they were asking questions about each other's families. After about 5 minutes of them talking I interrupted and said are you coming back outside to take our food order. ( Yes I will admit at this point I was frustrated and snapped a bit, but at this point you were outside sweating and aggravated and to top it all off we had three kids that just would not stop saying I'm hungry) she said I'll be right out. This was the only time the truth was being told because she was out there within 5 minutes. After that we had place to order and even ordered an appetizer I'm not even kidding you it took them almost an hour to bring out the appetizer I was beyond frustrated at this point shortly after they brought out the food but as anyone who has worked in the food industry can tell you if the food looks dried out and the plate is hot this means it has been sitting under the heat lamp for quite a while. They also brought us a pizza covered in pepperoni when we ordered a cheese pizza. The response to us was oh well it's just a free topping. ( That we didn't order for a reason) I understand it was probably a joke to them however considering everything that's been happening and again it was really hot outside none of us laughed. At this point we told our server to take the food back we no longer want to eat there grab their belongings and left. Strongly strongly strongly recommend to avoid this place. The one star for the food is basically because the food came out from being under the heat lamp for quite a while. I cannot comment on the taste of food because I personally did not eat any of it, but as a customer I can say this confidently a server can make or break the experience at a restaurant.
100% will not be back and will not recommend in fact the only recommendation I am making is to not go here.

The restaurant had reopened at 5 pm, we were the first at the door. We were one of the first people to order a takeout order. Whoever was working the bar let us know that it would be around 45 minutes to 1 hour; since they did not have much kitchen staff, Usually I would say no to that, but since we had a couple errands to run we agreed.

We arrived an hour later, and saw multiple people leaving who had dined in and also people with multiple pizza boxes that seemed to be togo orders. We were first told 5-10 more minutes, then again, and again…. After an hour and a half of waiting for a 2 item order that was placed as soon as they opened, the food was less than decent. My guess is that our food was never made until we arrived to pick up our food.

When we got back home the marinara sauce had no lid on it and was all over the garlic knots, pizza was awful, marinara sauce thrown on top of toppings… If not for tourism I do not see how this place would stay open. If you cannot operate normally with limited staff, stay closed.

It seems like uncle Vinny’s cannot keep up the pace. When I got the DoorDash order to come here to pick up a customer’s order it only took seven minutes to get here. But yet I’ve been sitting here over 50 minutes waiting on that same order. And no one seems to care. There’s no shortage of staff here so what is the problem?

Pizza was very good, saucy, crust was fantastic. Caesar salad was delicious. Chicken was a bit undercooked.

Visited them April 2025. Although it was very busy, we were seated immediately. Then our friendly waitress took our drink order. Returning shortly for our order. Wait time was reasonable for the number of diners and well worth it. The best NY pizza I've ever had. Uncle Vinny's will be a must stop on future visits.

Pizza was tasty but I didn’t really like that there was marinara sauce splattered across the top? We also had an order of mussels and they were delicious, however a bunch of them were unopened which is not typical as they can be hard to break open. They gave us some garlic knots too but they were literally so stale and hard they weren’t edible at all. Slow service, took over an hour to prepare one pizza and a mussels appetizer. Tasted great thankfully but honestly wouldn’t come back here.

For 14 years, Uncle Vinny’s has been my go-to spot in Carolina Beach. Uncle Vinny brings authentic Italian flavors to life with every dish, as his commitment to fresh ingredients and culinary excellence makes each meal a delight. He’s so talented and his staff are always so attentive.

Having traveled all over Italy, I can confidently say that Vinny’s creations rival the best. I always look forward to returning just to enjoy his delicious food. Uncle Vinny’s is more than a restaurant; it’s a cherished part of the community, and my home away from home. I can’t imagine Carolina Beach without it!

Dietary restrictions: I like to limit my gluten intake on occasion. When I do, Uncle Vinny’s is always ready with gluten free pasta or a pizza crust. You’d never know the difference as both are cooked to perfection and so delicious! I’m grateful for the dietary options.

Parking: The parking lot is spacious enough to pack the restaurant. There is also parking on the street as well as a town lot directly across from Uncle Vinny’s next door neighbor.

Kid-friendliness: I see children in the restaurant dining room most times I’m there. They’re enjoying the pizza or sandwiches & coloring pictures. It’s super cute!!

First time there, I was pleasantly surprised to find the atmosphere was beautiful, nice dining area beautifully decorated, nice low pleasant music ( not so obnoxious like other places) the food was wonderful and they get an extra star for having GlutenFree pizza !!! I will be back this week !!

If you’re looking for a delicious dish, you have to try the gnocchi at Uncle Vinny’s Pizzeria! It's soft and melts in your mouth, with a rich sauce that enhances the flavor perfectly. I was truly impressed by how fresh it tasted!
