Sad cafeteria food pretending to be "Tex-Mex". Taco Bell would be a better option.

It was my first time here! I am very pleased. A great afternoon quick bite stop or fun with family or a group.

When you eat with Armadillios, you are served generous portions, quality meats, and great flavor. The chicken and beef both have rich Tex-Mex flavor. Beef spices to die for.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. Nice blonde girl at the register. Great food preparation by the Hispanic females on the line. While Tex-Mex is sometimes seen as less authentic Hispanic food. I am happy to see these Latin workers at this location marrying the two styles. Authenticity comes from the people who prepare and think about our meal. I appreciate their warm smiles. I smile. ☺️🫡

A casual environment kept very tidy. Open first floor. Handicap accessable, I believe, with windows. While I did not go to the 2nd floor. My imagination runs wild thinking of possibilities for such a place. Family dinners, celebrations, company lunches.

This is the kind of place I will frequent for my gringo cravings! I love hard shell tacos. But, I love it all so much. Thanks Team Armadillo! I feel the love in Carrboro NC. Right back at you!

Below mediocre i would just get taco bell or chipotle over spending $30 on cafeteria food I thought it would be an actual mexican restaurant but it was like an overpriced Chipotle with less options and worse food the only saving grace was the nice cashier

Cool place to eat, good service and food. Parking in the back with outdoor and upstairs seating. The Texas Slaw is banging!

The woman working the front desk is an angel!! She is so nice and friendly. The menu ordering system is SUPER confusing and the prices are outdated. Just go to the cash and talk to the person at the front to figure out what you want. The food is super okay. Not much flavour honestly. Guac is missing acidity and freshness. Burrito was $12 for nothing special, not even a toasted tortilla. Chips weren’t salted enough. Zero spice. Queso in the burrito was not commendable. Just really average for a $18 meal. Nice seating options

This place was all the rage before C-19, when they even had a hopping upstairs bar. Recently the owners have toned it down a lot with closing of the bar, shorter hours, but the food is still good and reasonable.

Parking: Behind and across the small street (the lot adjacent to the tracks) is free parking. Avoid the lot across the larger street (Weaver St) as they tow.

It use to be amazing back in the days. Ever since Covid hit, the quality of food went down. They blame the price hike on Covid…. Before there was unlimited pico free of charge. The meat doesn’t taste the same neither. I believe the owner told me that they have a new distributor. No flavor and all around declined big time….. too bad. I would luv to see them rise again!

Please clear up the bushes along the sidewalk on the side of your building. Im in a wheelchair and I got hurt trying to clear them. The bushes on the right are harsh.

Our family has been going to Armadillo since the mid-1990s and it's just as good as ever. Family friendly; appeals to all ages. Tacos are flavorful and reasonably priced.
