We had a very joyful moment last Friday close to midnight. All drinks we ordered were satisfying, and so was the service. A toast to the newlywed coulple! The second cup of Ramos Gin Fizz from the right tastes very much like a hand-shake drink with a milk cap! I feel so nostalgic XD

The ambiance is nice however the drinks itself are not my favorite! I got the Paloma and it tasted just like lime fizzy water. I'll try another day for the cozy atmosphere but probably not for the drinks.

Best cocktails in town! Luxardo cherries, fresh mint, grated nutmeg and sophisticated atmosphere all elevate a night out

Atlas is the little neighborhood bar nestled on main st Carrboro. Easily overlooked when walking by, it can get quite crowded and loud during peak hours! It has some interesting decorations inside - though a good place to enjoy the energy of a bustling crowd without going in the cities on weekends. Atlas offers a laid-back experience with familiar drinks and affordable prices. The drinks were exactly what you'd expect --no frills, just classic options (favorite drink of the night was the broken shoe shiner)! Despite the bustling environment, the bartender managed to bring our drinks to us promptly. Their attentiveness in a busy setting was a pleasant surprise!!

It's a bar, not a restaurant. But they do serve cake. Excellent staff.

After an exhaustive investigationary period, I have come to the conclusion that Atlas is the best cocktail bar in the Chapelboro area. Everyone who works behind the bar is extremely talented. The decor is very smart as well. It is my favorite place to take a date for a drink. A nice jazz trio in there every now and then would be a nice addition.

I went here with a friend during a week night and got a Mojito. It was decently made. I enjoyed the atmosphere, which is a fusion of different eclectic styles inside. For a small bar, there were a lot of seats. There's also a small back porch with seating for 15 or so with fans circulating the air. Beware - do not park over by the Weaver Street Grocery Store, which is specific to that shopping mall.

Went there as a party of three on a rainy Saturday night on September 23rd. It was not very crowded when we entered the bar around 8:30pm. Plenty of seats and tables were available. We ordered our drinks, a Paloma, New York Sour and Last Word. I liked mine, the New York Sour, but not the others. I should say I asked the lady bartender for something with whiskey or gin, not too sweet, but also not bitter. I believe she got me. We sat down at the far end corner of the room and started chatting. Then, this group of four came, two lady and two gentlemen. The night goes on and I am realizing that this lady from the group of four is super loud. She is a character. Man... Then, I realize there are other loud people who makes you j*** every couple of minutes. Luckily, the super loud woman and her friend move to a table on the other end of the bar. After 5 minutes, I am finally noticing her. She is one of the characters from the X-men comics: Siryn. She is torturing me on the other end of the bar with a few other guests. At this point, I have no idea what my friends are talking about. I am totally drained from trying to guess what they are talking about from the few words I could hear. I finally gave up. My drink is out. I want to get another one, but I also want to go. So, no second drink. Now, I am sitting alone in my armchair and looking at the accessories on the walls. First, they all look cool, but as I look more carefully I start to realize that there is no concept here. Some Chinese-looking statues above the bar and some other statues on above the couch resembling Inca-Aztec artifacts. I see a big parrot print on my left and a cow statue below it. I see some butterflies framed on the wall in front of me. Now, I am thinking this place looks like a potluck dinner of international students and there is no couscous or dolma. So, I take a note to bring those with me next time I visit. Then, I am like, next time? No, there will be no next time until I have a severe hearing loss or I am kidnapped by a mob and brought to here for torture. Either this place has a real acoustic problem or the crowd this place attracts are the loudest people on Earth. Toward the end of the night, we are all talking about how loud everyone in here is and how tired we all are. It is finally time to go. We approach to the bar and close our tab. We are walking toward the door and we all realize the incline in front of the door. The final puzzle this place throws at us, but we are so tired. So, we skip the final puzzle, open the door and step outside. Oh, heavens! The rain is finally over. We all cherish the sound of empty streets and the cool breeze flowing over our cheeks. The door of Atlas closes and entrains the cacophony inside. It is happy without us and we are very very happy without it...

My sister and I have been to Atlas twice and have loved it both times. The cocktails are fantastic, the cake surpassed our expectations, and the staff we interacted with were efficient and skillful! This is our new go to place for nice cocktails and we can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic drinks and cozy/classy ambience. My favorite cocktail offering here is the NY sour, but the old fashioned is one of the best around. Definitely one of best cocktail spots in the area - and I appreciate the generous business hours 7 days/week.
