I can't even give this place a star for food. I was there last Sunday and I ordered the deluxe nachos without chilli. I got chips with sour cream. The French fries with my moms meal was so salty we couldn't eat them. If I wasn't as drunk, I would have asked to speak to a manager. No wonder there wasn't more than a few ppl there. I would not recommend this place.

Been here 3 times.1st time was FANTASTIC!Second and 3rd times, 1 meal out of the groups table was wrong and it took sooooo long to get their correct food, everybody else finished eating and we had to take it to go. Crazy part is, there were 3 tables of patrons including ours so it's not like they were busy.Manager did correct the issue at hand but extremely frustrating 2 times in a row. Not sure if we'll be back

My experience is online all delivery services took the kids menu off and my child can no longer get her pasta she wants. Called the restaurant they still serve it and she indicated it was an issue with corporate. So corporate please fix this to get 5 stars.

Excellent place, went out for a late night date. Service was amazing, food was delish. From Michigan was visiting my Boyfriend. Was a nice neighborhood. Walked to location. Very romantic. Great Town. Definitely check out this restaurant . Lots if food options and different beers on tap

I was there for an engagement party so I got to experience a number of their dishes from the catering menu. I wasn't paying for it but at the end I got the catering menu list and I will be using the restaurant for get-togethers. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. Everything was really good. Everyone raved about the macaroni and cheese. I didn't taste it because I don't like macaroni and cheese. The cedar smoked salmon was sooooo good. I could have eaten much more of that.

Take this place for what it is--an american sports bar. The 'merica burger was overpriced and average, with a scant amount of 5-10 noodles of macaroni on the burger. The service was slow for a Wednesday evening. If my goal was to watch a sports games with my friends and have some beers while doing so, I think this would be a great place...but not so much for a superb meal at a good price.

I wish I could rate our experience with less than a 1. Myself and some friends came from out of town after a show looking for somewhere to eat. We stumbled upon this restaurant and what we endured was way beyond disrespectful and rude. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and when we finally sat down a lady from the kitchen told us to hurry up and get out, that she was shutting her kitchen down. When handed our menus we were told again we had 5 minutes to order. Immediately after ordering drinks the waitress continued to stand there, rushing our food order. We will never eat here again. Do not recommend.

Extremely unhappy with my experience here at Hickory Tavern. I have dined here on multiple occasions and have never experienced anything like this. From waiting at the host stand for multiple minutes before being greeted to mediocre at best appetizers (in which we did not finish), to sending back multiple drink orders in which were, in my opinion, undrinkable. To being charged for ice for a drink. Service from Mo was nice but it was clear nobody had any restaurant experience inside of this establishment. After years of dining here on occasion, I will not be back.

Went with coworkers to celebrate social work month. Easy to make reservations for a medium to large crowd; staff was attentive and new GM was very nice and accommodating. We sat outside; it's like a covered porch! Definitely a go to...
So disappointing to have to report a terrible experience this week. Stopped in for a quick salad dinner, I had 75 minutes before an evening meeting. The place was almost empty with a group of 3 arriving just before me. I ordered a simple "build it yourself" salad and a baked potato. The waitress told me the oven was broken. So I went with the salad and proceeded to wait for almost 50 minutes for a lacklustre salad to arrive. The salad was missing requested ingredients with others not ordered. The manager explained that the kitchen was short staffed and upon leaving his office he noticed the accumulating tickets. Too bad the out of control kitchen was going to set the wait staff up for great criticism and a poor financial night. Lee, the manager, did comp the salad. It looked fair at best and I left for my meeting.I am sensitive to staffing challenges, it must be difficult. However, not keeping customers informed of delays and letting one team to take the blame for another's failure are simply poor performance.I really enjoyed Hickory Tavern in the past and it pains me to have to deliver this review...

We were there on Saturday night & was surprised to get a table. Wide range of options for food and drinks. Our waitress was wonderful. Food was top notch. We each had burgers and fries with beer and glass of wine. Everything was great. When we are in the area, this will be our 'go to' burger spot.

I used the private room in Hickory Tavern in Carrboro to hold a birthday party for my husband. The room was plenty spacious for 30 people. I ordered food which was brought out hot and delicious. Our waitress was Ariana and she was the actual star of the night!!! She was attentive to everyone and was so patient with all the different orders. She really got her steps in last night! I am appreciative to the manager and staff for helping me pull off a great surprise party!!

Host didn't give us menus or silverware. Waiter was slow to take order. After nearly an hour he came to say order would be out in 10 minutes at which point we cancelled appetizer. My burger was overcooked and the pub chips were undercooked and soggy. Other meal was fine. When finished was waving for the host to find waiter since had not been to table since served when he showed. Cancelled the drink order that had not come and asked for discount off check. Was given 50% off which was actually 40% plus the 10% I already was due. Table beside us that was there and ordered before had just gotten their order when they asked it to be cancelled.

First time at Hickory Tavern since my move here from out of state and I can’t say enough positive comments about my visit here. The food was excellent, the drinks were generous but the best part of my visit was Cynthia the bartender. She was not only attentive but provided great conversation as well. I highly recommend visiting this spot
