Food was really good but it took forever to arrive. My lychee old fashioned was yummy. Waiter was constantly apologetic to us and surrounding tables for the delay. Kitchen was having some problems the night we went. But we still enjoyed our food we would go try again.

Be wary of trying to go with small children! We made a reservation days in advance and specifically noted that we’d need a high chair for our child. When we arrived, we were told that the only table available for our party was a high-top, which wasn’t high chair accessible, because “other reservations had gotten moved around.” I can’t understand why this wouldn’t have warranted a phone call ahead of time—it would have saved us the frustration of showing up only to realize we couldn’t be accommodated. Really disappointing, especially since we were looking forward to trying this place.

We went in for Valentine’s Day last night and it was obviously booked and busy. While waiting for our reserved table to be clear we sat at the bar. At the bar Jackson greated us, he was SO incredibly nice and professional. We told him we wanted to get four dishes(a lot for two people but it’s all so good). He helped us decide on the last meal and what he recommended was honestly our favorite dish of the night, the chili garlic noodles with shrimp. Also, in top of helping us pick food, Jackson knew that food was taking a while to make due to the rush, so he rang in our food while we waited for our table, and it came out very soon to us getting sat. That really just made our night so much better that we were able to get sat and have food so quickly because of Jackson. Also on top of all his amazing service actions, he was taking care of the entire bar and you could tell how amazing he was at multitasking. This man NEEDS a raise because he was truly such an amazing worker, as someone who also is in the service industry I really appreciated having such good service because of such an amazing worker.

The food was not what I expected for the price point. It tasted fine, but my chicken hibachi was too greasy and my partner’s bi bit bop was more rice than anything else. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere very welcoming, but I feel like I’ve had much better food elsewhere. I would certainly recommend this place as a nice date spot, though! 4 stars, because this really is a nice little spot. Just didn’t *love* the food, especially for the price.

Fantastic spot with great service. Solid whisky selection that goes well with a number of sushi selections. My Dovetail pour paired really nicely with multiple (fresh) sashimi and nigiri options. Really enjoyed chatting with the owner and the staff. Definitely will be back next time around.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Iza. We had fantastic crafted cocktails and an appetizer of crispy Brussels sprouts which were the best we had ever had. Two of us have some allergy restrictions and they could not have been more amenable to creating us delicious and allergy safe foods. They even brought us out a few specially created dishes that were truly the best we had ever tasted. The customer service is impeccable, from the bartender to our server, to the owners making our dining experience one we will remember! We will be coming back to Iza very soon and highly recommend!! Game changer! I find many of the restaurants in the area to be just okay, kind of meh when you think about it. I don't even eat out as much as a result. Iza however is SO GOOD! The food is so wonderful, so much flavor with so many options. The owner of Iza, as well as La Montana around the corner, is so warm and personable. He came to our table and we felt like we made a new friend! This is a place worth dining at time and again.

We ate here once and it was amazing, but last night the service was slow, and after we both got painfully sick. Throwing up, feeling nauseated, stomach turning over. All this and the food was average at best. I’m not sure what happened, but we’ll never eat here again. Zero stars!!!!
Update: called them, and I was really nice, because things sometimes happen, and they basically said, “too bad, so sad”. Which, for as much as they charge, seems kinda harsh… as in, they suck. So, whatever, they lost customers and earned a bad review, and I’m not a person to easily leave bad reviews, but they certainly earned it.

Absolutely wonderful experience and out of this world dishes. We were lucky enough to have Jung as our bartender/server. He owns the place. He served us a tasting menu that was absolutely phenomenal - dumplings, wagyu steak, sushi, and more. I cannot speak because my mouth is still salivating from this meal.

Food, staff, atmosphere are FABULOUS!!! Samantha is fantastic!! The fusion of cuisine is unique and the chef takes huge pride in presenting a wonderful meal. Everyone in Chapel Hill and Carrboro should frequent this restaurant regularly . If you’re in from out of town, make this place one of your dinner destinations!

Our server forgot to give us the specials and didn't give us any instructions on how to use the hot stone - which the owner did come by to give after. The food had very little flavor beyond cheap soy sauce and lots of mayo. We were massively disappointed by the entire experience and shell shocked by the final bill
