Dear sweet baby llamas yall....this place is so good! I discovered this place while picking up a delivery order and fell in love. I've been a few times to get drinks and just chat it up with the staff while on break. But tonight I had the Assorted Arepas, polenta cakes with pork, chicken, jackfruit, and brisket. Absolutely amazing. I also got a mocktail cuz I was still technically "on the job", a ginger ale concoction that was wonderful. The restaurant has the feel of being part of the neighborhood for years, but from what I gather of my new friends at Luna, it's only been around since 2020. Needless to say, being new to the area it's nice to make new friends and find a new place to be wined and dined. Definitely will be back soon for food, drinks, and new friendships!

Put the fraiche back onto the maduros. Yes we noticed. Yes they’re better with it.

I really like this place! We were in Chapel Hill with my daughter and absolutely starving when we arrived so the saying "hunger is the best sauce" definitely applies! I had the black bean-quinoa-cheese empanada and two sides (sauteed kale and pimiento cheese grits). Everything was delicious. I especially liked the empanada and used lots of the green aji sauce, which was delish. I also liked the chimichurri sauce. My husband had the chicken and Maduros (fried plantains with cinnamon dipping sauce). His was very good as well. My daughter liked her potato empanadas as well. Service was great and food came out fast. I was too hungry to get a picture!

Drinks and food and desserts are absolutely delicious. Their menu is very varied, I think many people with different tastes would be happy, good vegetarian/gluten free/alcohol free drink options too.

Don't make the same mistake as I did and order takeout here. I ordered the chili beef brisket with collard greens and cabbage slaw. It arrived in a paper box that was wet and soggy due to the juices of the beef accumulating. Design flaw. The food was also really cold, like it had been made a long time ago. The beef was alright, but I have nothing good to say about the texture or flavor. The collard greens were fine, but my favorite was the cabbage slaw. I do recommend that. Would I come here again? Probably not.

service was wonderful, food was really great, and plentiful, very nice atmosphere, they do a great job. Had a shredded chicken sandwich, was flavorful and so were the jicama fries.

On a warm fall evening, we sat outside for a meal. With a reservation we were seated near the street where our conversation was interrupted by street noise several times. The service was very slow. Drinks came out moments before the food. The food was tasty and served at the right temp. The Madurai's we were a highlight. Jicama frites were light but substantial at the same time. The empanadas were interesting and excellent Not a great dining experience but a good meal.

A late flight brought us to the Hampton Inn Carrboro, NC. Where can we get dinner, I asked the hotel clerk. Across the street at Luna, you will enjoy your meal. And we did! The menu said - South American, American Southern. So my meal was an empanada, beans and rice and pimento cheese grits. My husband, was wood fired chicken, greens, beans and rice. We were unsure of a bourbon cocktail and he suggested an Old Fashioned. The service was friendly, the food tasty and the cocktail was a perfect Old Fashioned.

Excellent ambiance, service, quick in food coming out, all very fresh, very much enjoyed the - empanadas - cabbage slaw was my favorite part - 5$ margarita special (they have drink specials during week) - yuca fries - dipping sauces - chicken platter - Maduros (dip them in the creme fraiche but also love them in the spicy chili lime mayo) A lot of great options for everyone!

Absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly and attentive! It can be hard to find a high-protein, macro-friendly meal when dining out but Luna offers exactly that (along with more indulgent options as well). Btw I much prefer this one to their Durham location.
