Great food and good beverage options. We say outside to enjoy the street scene in Carrboro. Food was amazing and the service exceptional! Would definitely recommend this place.
can’t believe it took me so long to get over here! excellent service from Caroline and the bucatini was incredible, as was the gnudi!

We had a reservation for two and one child joined us. Instead of accommodating us, the host seated walk-ins first and informed us that our meal would be timed. The attitude made it clear we weren’t welcome, so we left. Definitely won’t return.

Absolutely stunning and authentic Italian food. The pasta is delicious, the sauces inspired, and the ingredients fresh. The open kitchen concept is great- just make sure you have a reservation.

We finally got to dine here. The greeting and service were good. The lack of cocktails was disappointing. The restaurant is small. The tomato toast was laughably small for the price, but really delicious! The pasta dishes we had were on point and delicious. BUT there needs to be more variety. The lack of seafood on the menu was surprising for Croatian and Italian food. The affogato wasn't available in decaffeinated espresso, which was disappointing. The chocolate tart with cherries was satisfying. We travel for food and I cook a lot, including making pasta. This was a very nice experience, just not outstanding.

A solid restaurant for fresh pasta dishes. I appreciate that the menu is very succinct, but I do wish there were more interesting options. Half of the plates/appetizer section is simple breads, olives, cured meat, etc. I tried the spicy sausage casarecce and the spaghetti. The pasta in both was cooked very well, with nice flavors, however I again wished for something more inventive.
They also have a surprisingly good amount of dessert options.

One of the best spots in the area. The menu reflects seasonal updates and creative takes on classic dishes. Wonderful wine list too!

We are so glad we got a gift certificate to pay for this mediocre place. Don’t get all the good reviews
It was my bday and our server wasn’t friendly and said he couldn’t make me a mocktail, I don’t drink but still wanted to celebrate and if you have sprite as they do, you can make a cocktail.
The food… so mediocre !!! My husband is a cook and I’ve had real and delicious pasta meals.
It was a bad bday celebration and the service was wonky. Everyone seemed a bit disorganized. Would NOT spend a dime at this place.

My first visit to Tesoro was long overdue. This is not your traditional mom and pop spaghetti and meatballs Italian restaurant (the types I grew up with in Western NY). The pasta dishes are a mix of Italian and Croatian influenced dishes. Having recently dined at a similar albeit much bigger and higher end italian-croation restaurant in Raleigh (Brodeto) I felt Tesoro was close in terms of quality but just not at the same level of quality dining experience (4 stars versus 5 stars). Here's what was really good: The lumache and the tomato - pepper sauce was very very good. I ordered the lump crab meat add-on and could barely tell that it was included (not what I was expecting for an extra $4). The focaccia bread was very good - it had a nice crisp that included some spiciness and peppery flavor. One of the better breads I've been served in a while actually. We also tried the gnocchi. My wife thought it to be really good. I thought it was just okay. While only a 4 star rating I am eager to dine here again so I can try another pasta dish.
