It’s the very best lunch for miles around! They have fabulous soups and the best sandwich choices for lunch. The egg salad, tuna salad, and chicken salad are all remarkably good. How is tuna remarkable? They pull it off! We are so blessed to have this family owned gem in Carthage. They are No. 1 without a doubt, if you don’t agree, you haven’t been there. Stopped in yesterday for a quick, warm and delicious lunch when I was traveling through Carthage and it did not disappoint. Service was great, atmosphere was cozy and their Tomato-Basil soup warmed my whole soul!

Wonderful to experience a restaurant with such high quality soup and sandwiches. The decor is simple and clean, with lovely touches on the walls. I had the tomato bisque and I will come back just for that, it was so good. The chicken salad with grapes and water chestnuts on toasted wheat was hearty and flavorful. Our server was efficient and very nice. Shame on me for not getting her name. This sure shines as a "mom and pop" establishment. Two bitty fudgy brownie bites were complimentary and worth breaking my healthy eating plan for!
Unfriendly hostess when I visited October 27, 2023. Having traveled the area I was visiting after hours on the road I first inquired about restroom facilities before considering my otder, The hostess was gruff and seemed to resent my inquiry about the restroom. She was less than personable and based on her seeming hostility I chose not to consider ANYTHNG. She may have been having a bad day but her rudeness persuaded me not to consider the soup company. She had an attitude!
