The restaurant is very groovy, lol! The vibe is super chill and easy. As soon as we walked in the hostess, Sune, greeted us warmly with a smile and she gave the impression she was genuinely happy to see us, like she was waiting for us to get there! We had told her it was our first time and when she seated us she must have told our waitress, Claire. Claire was also as warm as Sune and we immediately felt like we had been here before! Claire was happy to tell us about some of her favorites and we look forward to trying more on the next trip. We ordered meatballs as an appetizer and with myself, husband, and our daughter, that was perfect because there were 3. It was a cool presentation and they were delicious 😋 My husband and I both ordered adult drinks that went just perfect with our 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. I am a bit of a veg lover on my pizza, but I lost to vote that night, my fam are all about the meats! We ended up with 1/2 meaty for the hubby and the other 1/2 just pepperoni for the kid and I, it was pretty delicious. We went with a medium and that was perfect for us, we ended up taking home 2 pieces and they reheated perfectly in the air fryer the next day 👍🏻 Thank you for a great dinner and service!
I have to note that, my husband had 2 beers, I had 2 glasses of wine, and the kiddo had a soda pop 😋 Our total check was only $67. I think that is fantastic for what we had and with the excellent service! We will absolutely be back, we look forward to it! We dined on a Friday and we almost came back the following Monday for the $20 pizza special, but realized it was only for dine in and we were not prepared for that 😂 so, until next time!

We have been to Mellow Mushroom in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina, including the ones in Cary, Wake forest and brier creek. We went to Cary the night they opened the restaurant and have visited over the years often.
Our most recent two experiences were so terrible from a pizza and service perspective that we will never return unfortunately. One experience was with pretzels that were not cooked and were still dough, to the next time that the pretzels were half charred and deformed pretzels and half normally made. Our most recent visit we were told the kitchen was a bit backed up and to expect 39 Minutes. So we ordered right away. After getting our drinks, we never saw the waitress again. An hour and fifteen minutes later, we asked if the pizza was coming and were informed that it hadn’t even made it to the oven yet.
The managers entire time was spent going from table to table apologizing. Just a really terrible experience. Very sad to see that this restaurant go so far down since opening and hopefully the next restaurant that takes its place will take food and service more seriously.

Have mostly had good experiences. Ordered a delivery which ended up missing an item. Called back and was told all managers were busy but I would get a callback. Never got a callback. Will be *very* selective ordering delivery from this location again.

Really cool place, a true mellow mushroom experience. Artwork was cool and staff were super friendly. Ordered the Cloud 9 wings - truly did put me on cloud 9. Pizza was great too.
Very good food & awesome staff members & management! I truly enjoyed my vegan pizza! Not many pizza restaurants have vegan pizzas available on the menu. But Mellow Mushroom has an amazing vegan pizza as well has traditional pizzas! Me & my husband enjoyed our experience at this Cary location & hope that you will as well! It is impossible to order pizza on-line for delivery. The site hangs up at payment after a half dozen attempts. I ended up driving to pick up the pizzas.

I had a to go order. They were as busy as they could be. The staff was very attentive and letting people know where we were in the wait. The manager Ryan came out from the back where he was busting his butt to apologize. The whole team was working hard and looked to be having fun. The pizza was WELL WORTH THE WAIT. Good food takes time!! If you’re not eating there I would say you are missing out!!!

Mellow Mushroom never disappoints. This location is especially good. I almost always get take out though. They have great pizza, and my personal recommendation is to get the calzone without ricotta. Add bacon if you’re not a vegetarian. It’s fantastic and they have made it perfectly countless times.
