My son and I dropped by while we were in town. There are not many options in Cashiers for lunch, so this place is usually busy. I assumed the food was good. My burger was burned when first served. Before I could say something to the waitress, the manager brought another burger. The cook knew he served inedible food. The second burger was overcooked as well. My son’s chicken tenders were ok. The waitress was nice, but too busy to be attentive. The place seemed understaffed. I looks like a nice bar, but in my opinion it ends there. Everyone has a bad day, but this place has left me with a charred taste.

Cashiers offers a number of good restaurants, though some may be closed in the off season. If you don't want to drive to Brevard Cashiers has options. The Ugly Dog pub is a great choice. Good food served fast. The place was not crowded in March. The manager made the rounds to check on us. My wife needed gluten free. They don't have GF bread ? but they offered to give her the sandwich on the plate, no bun. They have a full bar with two big screen TV's over the bar. If you are in the area and don't want a chain restaurant, it's a good option.

Terrible experience at The Ugly Dog tonight. We should have left when we stood by the hostess stand for an unreasonable amount of time before being seated, being curtly told twice "we will be right with you". But unfortunately we chose to stay. After being seated, we waited another 10 minutes before our waiter returned to take our order. We ordered a wedge salad and chicken tenders in buffalo sauce and two waters. We waited over an hour for our food. Our waiter (later learned it was the manager) returned only twice and never refilled our waters. When we asked about our order he said he was checking on it and that they were "a little behind". We noted several people that came in after us had already received their food. We also saw several people walk out after waiting at the hostess stand and not being seated. When he finally came out with our food he only had the salad and said the tenders weren't quite ready yet, after an hour! My husband said to just cancel them, we would share the salad. The "manager" mumbled about being busy and never quite apologized for the lengthy wait or bringing only half of our order. He left to get us another plate. Then, when we started to split the salad there was a HAIR in it!!!! A HAIR!!! We called the manager back over, showed him the hair and said that it was absolutely unacceptable and he literally did NOT say anything. He just stood there looking dumbfounded. So without an explanation or apology from the manager, we walked out. Please do not waste your time or money here.

Busy NYE afternoon but beer was cold, guacamole and homemade tortilla chips great. Turkey Bacon club on cranberry toast was excellent as were the crispy tots and fries. Swiss mushroom burger great. Nice vibe, sweet efficient woman server. You could tell all staff working hard. I’d recommend!
