Visited during the Pittsboro Street Fair today. We had an order of the Jambalaya Egg Rolls and they were out of this world delicious! The chef and crew working their booth were very friendly. I will definitely be visiting their space in Chapel Hill soon! Support your local businesses!

First time visiting, but won’t be the last. Loved the food with unique flavorful dishes you won’t find anywhere else. Food arrived quickly and hot. I also appreciate that the menu gave very detailed descriptions especially since I’m not familiar with an Asian fused soul food menu.Couldn’t decided what to order because every combo appeared delicious. Ordered enough to sample. Now we’ll order the rest of the menu for a future return visit.Currently open on Saturdays.

The first time eating here will not be the last! Jambalaya egg rolls with a gumbo dipping sauce. OMG! The pulled pork sandwich was good as well. Last but not least, honey fried cornbread. I'm not a big cornbread person, but this was delicious. The chef came out and spoke to me, making sure everything was fine. Very personable. Good food.

So here's the thing, I really, really wanted to love this place. I follow several food content creators, one of which recommended this establishment. I had this on my wishlist for sometime. Due to timing and distance I hadn't tried previously. The restaurant is located in an unassuming community kitchen with ample parking and seating. The service was warm and inviting. I was immediately greeted and placed my order. Unfortunately, due to unexpected hiccups I had a longer than normal wait time (25 mins or so). The staff was very apologetic and offered to comp an item. I never received the comp, but no worries I appreciate the thought. I ordered the gumbo, rib plate, and cornbread as an appetizer. The gumbo was clearly the star of the show and worth the wait. While I'm not a gumbo aficionado, I found the roux to be complex and appropriately spiced, in both in spice and heat levels. What I didn't like and I would have increased the scoring from a 3 to a 4 was the okra. I'm a okra fan. So I'm guessing he included fried okra to account for non okra fans. The okra didn't travel well and I didn't particularly like. However, all the other elements were very tasty. The rib plate was pretty good. I guess they fried the ribs and sauce after? The sides were fine. I would be perfectly happy with traditional sides, but I appreciated the creativity. I definitely think this establishment is worth a try. Try it and see for yourself. Non traditional soul food: 3.9Correction: refund processed and was received the next bank day.

Went to 50Kitchen on a very dreary rainy Saturday and received a warm welcome from their staff. The food is carefully prepared and delicious. I had the Shrimp and Grits and it was perfect low country style. Their menu has various interesting dishes so I will definitely be returning.

I'm not surprised there aren't any reviews yet, as this restaurant is only open Saturdays 12-8 right now, but holy cow, do try them out.Our family went last Saturday and the food was spectacular. Our boys got the chicken and waffle sliders w rosemary infused syrup and apple butter - they loved them. I got the 50K sandwich, which was so delicious I made everyone take a bite. BBQ pork with Asian pear slaw and cilantro on an insanely yummy grilled brioche bun...heaven. My husband really enjoyed the St. Louis ribs and the sides. All in all - outstanding. The couple that runs the places are super nice - we got complimentary honey fried cornbread, which my 12 year old said was the best cornbread he'd ever had, and I had to agree. The restaurant is in the pop-up space of the Blue Dogwood Public Market. I was afraid we would't find parking, but was pleasantly surprised to find several spots in a little lot right in back of the Market on Rosemary St. The current space is used by several new culinary ventures, and it's fun and funky. They are hoping to get their own space soon. Try them out now while there's no wait!

Ate here yesterday because I heard all the raves about this little hole in the wall and it did not disappoint……except for the fact that it’s only open on Saturdays. I thinks that’s good marketing, lure the customers in with the flavorful baguettes and make them wait all week to come back. I’m excited to be going back to try something else. Delicious!!!

The cornbread is out of this world. Ribs and signature chicken sandwich were delicious as well. Will definitely be back when we are back in town.

Incredible food. Never had a chicken sandwich so good. I’m from New Orleans, and the shrimp and grits here holds its own with anybody’s in the south. So glad chef Anthony moved down here!

Tried this place tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Did not expect to be served such high quality, and delicious food when I first walked in to the place. It’s an eclectic little spot but serving up high end taste. You can tell it’s all made fresh and the chef puts his heart and soul in to each dish he prepares. The owners were so friendly! Phenomenal service, and delicious food. Definitely try the jambalaya egg rolls and the 50chicken sandwich! Will be going back for sure!!
