Finally got around to trying this place out with a friend for lunch, and I was not disappointed. All of their meats are amazing and juicy, and that mac and cheese is curl-your-toes delicious. I can't wait until Blue Dogwood opens their indoor space back up. This place is amazing.

It was so good that I got emotional. There was not a single disappointment on that menu. Pork ?, Sides?, Chicken ?, Desserts ? ❗This is better than any BBQ I've had (I've lived in TN/NC) . The flavors are elevated and complex. It's smokey without being heavy or too greasy.

Cool shared outdoor seating across a few restaurants. A little confusing at first but good once figured out. This food is SO FILLING and really good. I would take a little less salt in the BBQ to get to 5 stars.

Wow! The BBQ here is incredible! Full of flavor. All the other food we tried, including the Mac and cheese, potato side, and even the dipping sauce was delicious. Def recommend!

We've been salivating over the rave reviews and photos for quite some time and finally got the chance to dine here today. HOLY SWEET FOODIE HEAVEN!! This is the most sublime meal we've experienced in quite some time.... and we can't wait to go back. We didn't take pictures.... no time. Once we saw the food, we obliterated it like a last meal. Eat here!!

Big Belly has ruined me for bbq ... a huge chopped pork sandwich, amazingly tender and flavorful, lots of great charred smoky bits, perfect bun, plus the slaw and sauce are just right. Hope everyone finds out about this place!

This is a really promising place. You can taste the layers and the depth of their smoking in every bite of the meat. It helps that, sitting outside, you're directly in the path of their big smoker. Obviously, the nose really helps influence what the mouth is tasting, so well played, Big Belly Que. My smoked andouille sausage was too salty and that was its only downfall. It doesn't NEED the salt, it already tastes like enough with all those tasty layers, and I wish the saltiness didn't take away from the outstanding homemade pickles. The pop of them would have been nicer coming from a lighter place. like it was set against the background of the pulled pork, which was tender and more mildly flavored so the smoke was brought to the front. I was most taken aback (in a good way) by how awesome the mac and cheese was. Mac and cheese as a BBQ side is too often kind of a throwaway thing, oozing with nacho-like cheese and kind of slimy. This was a sharp cheddar shock with al dente pasta and would absolutely stand up as a main dish!

Holy crap the Mac and cheese is amazing I know most people come for the meat. But the Mac and cheese was so good. The sausage was amazing too. Loved the sauce! Will be back.

Incredible. Get some while it’s still a dive.

So glad yelp brought me here. Amazing southern bbq and amazing people. The pulled pork and mac and cheese are a must!!! Even though seating is outside, it is beyond worth sitting in the heat to get this food.

Got takeout here today, and everything was absolutely amazing. I’ve had pulled and chopped pork all over the south, and the chopped pork here was hands down the best I’ve had anywhere. It was perfectly smoky with the most pronounced and flavorful bark I’ve ever eaten, and was true to the Lexington style. The meat was super tender and juicy without being squishy like I’ve had in some places, and all of the fat was rendered into the meat so it felt lean and buttery at the same time. It came with a delicious sauce, but I only used about half of it because the pork was so good on its own. It may sound crazy, but you can really taste how fresh and farm direct this meat is too. The hot sausage was deliciously smoky while being plump and juicy (and not too spicy, so don’t be scared), and the brisket sandwiches were primo and came with onion straws/rings on fresh-baked bread that we were happy to wait a couple of extra minutes for while it finished baking. For sides we had the baked beans (with pork and carrot chunks and a faintly sweet tomato bbq sauce base), vinegar slaw (awesome and just the right amount of tart), creamy slaw (pronounced buttermilk flavor and texture), and pickles (thin sliced and perfect with the bbq). Everything tasted clean, fresh-made, and slow-made. No shortcuts here. These folks are doing everything the right way, so if you’re looking for the highest quality of bbq made by folks who are clearly committed to the craft, you’ve found it.The quote of the day was from my father in law who bit into a biscuit with homemade blood orange marmalade and said: “this is how a biscuit ought to be made.” I think you’ll find that to be true of pretty much everything on the menu.Order ahead online and try everything they make. And do it soon so you can say you ate there before they became a wildly successful brick and mortar restaurant!
