I didn't feel as good about the begals and begal sandwiches here as other folks. The bagels were OK, bit the special. My breakfast begal had a partly reheated egg and cheese. The begal was toasted and had way too much butter for me. The rest if my group wasn't impressed with there selections as well.

Best bagels in the area! Staff is great and we appreciate seeing the owner working the counter from time to time. Try the challah bread!!!
Parking: Easy if you come early enough. Lot out back and street parking out front.
Kid-friendliness: Great with kids. They have stickers :)
The best bagels I've had in the south! The service was outstanding and cheerful and fast! Just walking in the door and your senses tell you that you are back in NYC/north NJ bagel store. Just amazing !! The person helping me also through in some sample kaiser rolls they just started making which i can't wait to try but stuffed on my toasted yummy buttered biali!! Thanks

Wow, fast friendly service and delicious. Highly recommended. Breakfast sandwich on Kaiser was stupendous.
Love this spot. I have lived in chapel hill for years and they are my favourite breakfast spot. Onion Bialy with egg & cheese is what I go for. The iced coffee is also SUPER good. Like SO good. It’s from grey squirrel and just has a deep flavour profile. Bagels are fresh. I like the salads too. Cream cheese options are lovely. Open early just closed early too :( - weekends are lively / busy in a good way. The line always moves fast and the staff are well trained, kind, and positive.
As good as it gets. Beats many places in New York, too. $10 for breakfast sandwich + coffee

The food is always delicious and there are so many good options and you can customize anything! The staff are amazing and super friendly and the owner Alex is great too, it feels local and homey inside.
Dietary restrictions: Everything is customizable for dietary restrictions but the GF bagel is not safe for celiac.

I’m a Brandwein’s regular and have never left without a smile, anything you order will be tasty, fresh, and wonderfully baked (fluffy interior and crispy exterior, which is my favorite). Their cold brew is also great, they source it from Grey Squirrel Cafe, another amazing Chapel-boro staple! Overall, you can always count on Brandwein’s for a yummy and quick brunch, and the doodles on the bags always make my day :)
We recently got some everything bagels and veggie cream cheese and everything was delicious! Great customer service and friendly staff!

As a fellow long islander, this is not a NY bagel. It looks like a bread shaped bagel or a Kaiser roll. Bagels aren’t supposed to taste like fluffy bread. The spread is very disappointing, who the heck charges for a little bit more of cream cheese. This is not what a NY bagel is lol. Also it was about $13.
