Loved the food, the guy who served us was nice, the atmosphere was really clean, organized and I LOVEEED the Indian soft Music they played, made me feel on India. Really recommend 🫶
I went with my friend and she did not like the food that much! The portion sizes were smaller and she said it wasn’t flavorful. Also when we went, the whole place smelled a bit weird, like antiseptic.
When I first moved here from Greensboro, I was worried I wouldn't find a local Indian restaurant that I loved as much as the one I'd been frequenting for almost a decade. But from the very first bite of Chimney, I knew I had found my favorite local spot.
For starters, this restaurant is so peaceful. Comfortable chairs, a great view of Franklin, and this calm and serene vibe from the moment you walk in, until you walk out.
I have yet to have a bad meal here. I'm vegetarian, and I can genuinely order anything off the vegetarian menu, and know it's going to blow my mind. My favorite is their incredible lunch special where I get just a little bit of everything, though I am always partial to a palak paneer.
Finally, the service here is fantastic. They are fast and always so very kind.
I've yet to try much other Indian food in the triangle, even after so many months living here now. I just can't stop going to Chimney!
This place is TERRIBLE. They pay friends to leave fake reviews!!!!!!!! DONT EVER GO HERE. I ATE HERE AND IT WAY BAD PLUS MY CAR GOT TOWED.
Excellent food and place. However, we will not be back after an incident with the towing company working at their parking lot. Barnes Towing is harrasing clients.
Friendly, fresh, and always consistently excellent! Everything I've tried is great my standard favorites: chicken 65, sag paneer, chicken Tikka masala, veggie samosas, non-veggie app sampler is awesome too!
Wow! Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I ordered the veg platter, goan shrimp and garlic chili naan. Everything was amazing.
A great spot for Indian food in Chapel Hill. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing a drink at the bar, the experience is enjoyable from start to finish.
Food & Drinks
• The veg and non-veg thalis are a great option, offering a well-balanced meal with three curries, naan, an appetizer, rice, and a dessert. The portions are typical, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful.
• Even though thalis are usually pre-set, you can request your preferred spice level, which is a nice touch.
• The bar is well-stocked with liquor, beer, and Indian drafts, making it a great place to grab a drink along with your meal.
Ambiance & Service
• The restaurant is clean and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both casual and special occasions.
• The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
• There’s plenty of parking, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.
Pricing
• The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes.

Chimney Indian kitchen is a must visit for anyone craving Indian cuisine. I have been to this place with group of friends.
We started with the samosas, crispy and filled with spiced potatoes and peas. Served with the tamarind and mint chutneys, that had just the right amount of kick.
For the main course chicken tikka masala was standout, rich creamy, and perfectly spiced served with the rice. Paneer Butter Masala was equally impressive.
Don’t skip the desert the gulab jamun was the perfect sweet ending warm and soaked in syrup, leaving us with smiles on our faces.
I’ll be definitely returning to explore more of their menu.

I tried the lamb Biriyani. Wasn’t good at all. Didn’t like it. Also, it was so oily.

We ordered two chicken biriyani for dinner. It was one of the worst biriyani I ever ate. We could not even complete eating one. It seemed like the food had been sitting around for days. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone
Food was really high quality and tasted amazing and a good price point. Fast service and nice open windows. Franklin St. needs more establishments like this and less chain fast food places!
