This is the best southern home cooking I have had in a long time! The biscuits are so big and fluffy, the fried chicken and veggies were perfect. And the customer service from the owner was amazing! I highly recommend this place!

This is the place for authentic Southern food! Great fried chicken with collard greens, mac & cheese and candied sweet potatoes.

Been going here for years! Staff is super friendly especially the owner, they all greet you with a smile. Food is always delicious and hot! Best perk is they are open 24/7! Hope this restaurant always stays in business because it’s a Carolina gem on Franklin Street!

Love the food! Price is excellent for the portions of food you get.

Price display is not even accurate. It showed $9.99 and $10.99 for plate meals. Was charged near $16. IF you can't advertise prices clearly and then overcharge from what was displayed then you're not looking out for the general public. First and Last time going.

Stopped here for dinner with my son. I had the Country Fried Chicken Dinner (white), with fried okra, potato salad, and corn bread. Jr opted for the fried trout with same sides. We did not leave hungry nor unsatisfied. Great eats! And, the potatoes in the salad were thoroughly cooked. I hate crunchy potatoes in salad. There are lots of other options and sides, and pecan pie for dessert. The sign says “always open.”

Downtime has kinda strange vibes, maybe it was just the night that I went. Many disconnected, what I presume to be birthday groups, but no real dancing fun. Maybe I will have to go back and my mind will be changed. But for now, this is how i feel.

Enjoyed every bit of it! The spaghetti was perfectly saucy and had some sweetness to it. The lemonade was soooo good and refreshing. The cornbread and friend chicken was great as well!

After seeing Time-Out on Man vs. Food many years ago, and having a co-worker rave about it from his time at UNC, i knew I had to give it a try while in the Chapel Hill area on vacation. My wife and I were just driving around the area looking at the sites, and happened upon the beautiful UNC Chapel Hill campus. The next thing I knew, we were next to Time-Out and thought it was fate. We were planning on getting lunch there later, but since we were right there.... Ordered the Chicken and Cheese Biscuit. Simply amazing. The size is large. The biscuits are buttery and flaky. The chicken is moist and crispy. Makes me wish I had attended UNC Chapel Hill so that this was a staple. Wanted to try everything on the menu, but that was not an option this time. If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely come back.
